Enerwave ZWN-RSM2-PLUS Dual Relay Switch

Hello everyone,

I've installed two units of this dual relay switch, so we could automate control of 4 different loads (Load 1 / Load 2 in each ZWN-RSM2-PLUS). even though I would like to automate the loads, I also would like to maually control the same loads by using regular switches locally. This unit allows it if you install old school switches locally and connect those to the AUX 1/ AUX 2 terminals of the ZWN-RSM2-PLUS.

Once I paired the units with Indigo, I was immediately able to control the 4 loads, either operating the manual switches locally (i.e. pressing each of the 2 buttons installed locally on either ZWN-RSM2-PLUS), or centrally (i.e using Indigo to send on/off commands to control each load).

The problem I'm facing is: Instant Status reports only seem to report local changes (button presses) for Load1 on both ZWN-RSM2-PLUS units... I have tried to resync, but wasn't able to overcome this issue.

Below is the log contents captured immediately after resyncing and pressing buttons for load 1 and load 2 on one of my ZWN-RSM2-PLUS units. As you can see at the end of the log, only load 1 seem to be reported back to Indigo. The same thing happens oh my other ZWN-RSM2-PLUS unit, so it doesn't seem to be cause by a malfunctioning unit

Can anyone please advise how to make Load 2 also report back to Indigo via Instant Status reports?

Hi Cesar,

Turn on Indigo's Z-Wave Debug logging checkbox (via the Interfaces->Z-Wave->Configure... menu), then manually control both loads and copy/paste the Event Log results of each individually into a follow-up post.

Actually, based on the manual it looks like by default that functionality is disabled. Try using Indigo's Interfaces->Z-Wave->Modify Configuration Parameter... menu to change parameter #3 to the value of 1. If that doesn't work then turn on the debug logging as mentioned above to try to capture what (if anything) the module is sending.

Thanks Matt for prompt reply,
When I tried "Interfaces->Z-Wave->Modify Configuration Parameter...", none of my Enerwave ZWN-RSM2-PLUS units appeared on the list of available devices to send parameter to...
I have seen additional posts mentioning that for a device to accept parameters modifications, it has to support Modification Class. As you can see from the sync log above, mine do not seem to support it... I've also seen one of your posts suggesting to remove and add again with encryption, but did not have the time to do that yet, as both units are now inside the walls...
Any other ideas?

Here is the log, after setting z-wave debug logins on. As requested, I manually switched both local buttons ON, waited 1 second, then switched both OFF. Log only captured ON and OFF for Relay Switch 1, which corresponds to one of the local buttons.

Unfortunately, I don't know why the module isn't sending updates for the 2nd switch. As shown in your Event Log nothing is sent except when you controlled the first switch. You are correct about Indigo not showing that device in the Modify Configuration Parameter UI because the device doesn't report (during the sync) to support that command class (0x70). You can try excluding and re-including it with encryption, but I"m not sure that is going to help. I don't know if you are running into a limitation of how the module works, or if the particular model you have is an older (and buggy) firmware version. From the log though this doesn't appear to be a device definition issue, as there are no commands coming from the module at all when the 2nd button is pressed. If there were commands being sent but just to a different endpoint than Indigo expected, then a device definition could fix the problem.

Thanks, Matt.

I will look into trying exclude / re-include with encryption, to see if solves the issue. I don't think it will do any good, but we won't know until I try... It won't happen for a few days as I'm busy with other house renovation issues.

Best regards,
Cesar
