Firmware Upgrade UZB

I want to update the USB stick for two reasons.
- being able to make a backup
- disable the obnoxious blue LED

As far as I understand I could use Z-Way without a license to make the backup and the firmware upgrade.

Anyone here who did this on a Mac? Is it even possible to do this?

With Indigo, you should be using 5.07 as outlined here ( viewtopic.php?f=58&t=22120&p=174808&hilit=UZB+firmware#p174808 ) or your locks won't work.

For one, I am eagerly waiting to be able to use the latest firmware.

As for backup, I used the Z-Way.me Zway software, in both raspberry and the windows version to backup and restore the z-wave configuration after a UZB stick failed. it worked well. However, I did buy the license. Not sure if it would work without it.

Do not try it. Anything higher than 5.07 will not work properly.

It is an Indigo issue - other SW works fine.

Made a comment in the Kwickset thread :)

BTW, backup will work just fine with 5.07

" I could use Z-Way without a license" - really, not. Will not restore multiple devices - only a few allowed.

But the price is negligible - you can buy it online for something like 20$

A lot of very useful tools in the razpberry software non-existent in Indigo - including advanced associations, network map and so on.

I've actually looked at this (UZB) recently. I need to spend some more time on it, but the more recent versions of the UZB definitely are doing some strange things. In particular, it adds 2 random bytes to association report commands. I've verified that it is definitely sending additional bytes in that case, and have worked around it to some extent but cannot catch all of the cases. I'm not sure about the lock/encryption issue yet.

Tested beta version of the zwave plugin. Upgraded UZB1 to 5.36 (SDK - 6.81.01 with smart start support). So far, works fine - including encryption (locks, etc).

Awesome news :)

Cool news! Any chance to try the beta plugin? Running into some issues, every works then stops until I resync devices. Hoping is the firmware.

I'm not so sure it will help that problem, but I'll send you an email.

Matt,

A quick update. Upgraded the UZB1 to 5.36 firmware and with the beta zwave plugin, everything seems to work well, including the locks.

As for my z-wave re-sync issue, all well so far. Will keep you posted.

Thank you!

According to release notes for 7.4.1, UZB1 firmware up to 5.32 is supported. Does Indigo 7.5 support the current UZB1 firmware 5.39?

We haven't tested against 5.39 but I suspect it will work fine.
