Re: Aeotec siren

This one requires a pretty complicated definition with custom code, so it is a bit tricky. When you sync'd it with Indigo did it create multiple devices? If so you can try sending it raw Z-Wave commands. One of these two will probably turn on the siren:

0x20 0x01 0xFF
0x25 0x01 0xFF

and one of these two will turn it off:

0x20 0x01 0x00
0x25 0x01 0x00

I'm not sure which device you should send it to that Indigo created during the sync, so you'll just need to try them all. It is probably one of the last ones. Note that once the version of Indigo is released that supports your Aeotec module version you will need to re-sync the device, and the devices that get created may be in a different order than what they are for you currently. That is, the device you end up sending the raw command to will likely end up being wrong after you get the new version, which is probably fine because you'll want to switch over from using the raw commands to using the Turn On/Off commands anyhow (so you'll be changing your actions/logic regardless).

I'm much less interested in this as a siren, more for chimes when outdoor motion is detected or for doors opening (like with a security system). I'll try those codes, but it may be better to wait - don't want the siren to be going off while I'm at work and the wife has to smash the siren to get it to shut off.

Re: Aeotec siren

I suspect it isn't going to work sending it to the root device. Probably best to wait for the next version of Indigo for support on this one.

Re: Aeotec siren

For what it's worth, the first command, 0X20 0X01 0XFF made a long doorbell-type sound go off, only one time (no need to stop).

I'm eagerly awaiting the next release :)

Great – I'm glad that at least worked. Will be much better in next release for you.

Re: Aeotec siren

Does anyone have a command to get the siren to sound like a siren instead of a door bell?

Re: Aeotec siren

Does your device sync event log show Model ID: 010300A4 as well? If so, the option to change the tone/volume will be in the next (soon to be released) version of Indigo.

Matt, can you confirm that also the standalone Indoor Siren ZW164-C will be supported in that same version? My Model ID: 000300A4
Currently I don't even get the raw z-wave commands to work :-( - but it's ok to wait for the upcoming version for now.

Re: Aeotec siren

Looks like the Indigo Siren 6 is just the Doorbell 6 without the remote doorbell button. We'll add it to the device definitions as well.

Re: Aeotec siren

Indigo 7.4 is now available and includes support for the Aeotec Indoor Siren 6 (ZW164) and a new variant of the Doorbell 6 (ZW162).

Re: Aeotec siren

Sweet - but how to trigger it? :?

I have re-synced my ZW164 device and now getting 5 devices as expected. When I want to execute button 1 (as example) in a trigger with action type "Turn On (Light/appliance Control)" it fails me (Same with Toggle):

Z-Wave Error device "Siren - Button 1" does not support on command

Can you copy/paste the Event Log results of the sync for me into a reply?

Re: Aeotec siren

Looks like you included the module with encryption and that is causing some confusion as to what commands Indigo thinks it supports. Try excluding it and re-including it without encryption (then re-syncing it) and I believe it will work. It requires a complicated device definition so getting it working with encryption is going to take some additional work on our end.

Yep now it works without encryption.
