Fibaro FGS213 - Can't Disable Energy Monitoring

Despite setting all of the relevant parameters to zero on this switch, which is supposed to disable energy monitoring, I'm getting frequent messages like this:

21 Jan 2019 at 19:53:41
Z-Wave received "Porch Light" energy total to 10485.76 kWh
Z-Wave received "Porch Light" energy total to 0.00 kWh

21 Jan 2019 at 19:54:01
Z-Wave received "Porch Light" energy total to 0.32 kWh
Z-Wave received "Porch Light" energy total to 0.00 kWh

21 Jan 2019 at 19:54:54
Z-Wave received "Porch Light" energy total to 10737418.24 kWh
Z-Wave Error received "Porch Light" energy total value out-of-bounds 10737418.24 kWh (ignored)

The porch light is a 9w LED so these figures are clearly wrong, but I shouldn't be getting ANY energy messages!

Has anyone else encountered this issue? I'm wondering if it's a faulty switch, but it seems to work perfectly otherwise.

Re: Fibaro FGS213 - Can't Disable Energy Monitoring

Yes Ian, tried that; didn't seem to make any difference.

I switched on Z-Wave debug messaging and the switch is sending messages like this every second:

Z-Wave Debug RCVD requestMeterLevel: 01 10 00 04 00 4D 0A 32 02 21 44 00 00 00 00 00 00 F9
Z-Wave Debug . . requestMeterLevel: node 077, endpoint None, meterType 01, raw value 4400...
Z-Wave Debug . . requestMeterLevel: 0.00 kWh (float: 0.000000)
Z-Wave Debug RCVD requestMeterLevel: 01 10 00 04 00 4D 0A 32 02 21 44 00 00 00 00 00 00 F9
Z-Wave Debug . . requestMeterLevel: node 077, endpoint None, meterType 01, raw value 4400...
Z-Wave Debug . . requestMeterLevel: 0.00 kWh (float: 0.000000)

When I remove the power to the switch I get this message:

Z-Wave Error send "Porch Light" requestMeterLevel command failed (module might be asleep, or is unreachable)

which makes me think it's an Indigo issue...

No such issue with one I’ve got, firmware version is 3.02, can’t see what yours is.

Re: Fibaro FGS213 - Can't Disable Energy Monitoring

racarter,
For the fun of it I changed mine to report every 30 seconds and nothing changed, as in no additional energy reports being received. Also tried the power reports at 30 secs and its reporting as requested. Seems like there’s an issue with the energy report. I used both the device configuration and the manual configuration and no difference.

A further test on a Fibaro FGS223 results in same issue, parameter 59 changes are not having any affect.

Update:

This

https://forums.indigodomo.com/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=18165&p=137755#p137755

seems to have stopped the messages. I'll see how things go overnight and mark this as solved if all's still good.

Thanks for the update. I'm surprised that fixed this particular problem, but that is good to know.

Spoke too soon. Problem came back after a couple of hours.

Re: Fibaro FGS213 - Can't Disable Energy Monitoring

This seems like a firmware buglet or FIbaro changed/added a parameter. You might want to try contacting them to see if they have a solution.

Thanks Matt. I e-mailed them yesterday but no response so far.

Re: Fibaro FGS213 - Can't Disable Energy Monitoring

Latest:

As long as I don't set Parameter 53 (Switch Energy Threshold) to zero (which is supposed to disable the reports but actually causes them to happen every second) the device seems stable, but when I operate the switch I get these Z-Wave debug lines:

Z-Wave sent "079 - Relay Load" on

If I'm reading this correctly, Indigo is asking for reports. Matt, is this the case?

Incidentally, while I had Z-Wave debug switched on I noticed that the Micro Smart Energy Switch (DSC18) shows the same messages.

Re: Fibaro FGS213 - Can't Disable Energy Monitoring

Yes, a few seconds after Indigo detects the on/off (or brightness for dimmers) change broadcast from a module it follows-up to poll out the power/energy information. This is mainly so that the Watts being used is updated to reflect the new state (and as an added, but probably unneeded, bonus kWh is updated too).
