Re: Aeotec Gen5 firmware just released

I can tell you that much:
I have 2 UZB1 now which I restored my setup to.
The first one is firmware 4.06 and behaves the same as Aeotec with firmware 1.01 meaning it freezes during optimize.
The second one is firmware 4.61 und dosn't freeze. during optimize. So it seems to be obvious that the problem is in the firmware and not the individual setup.
Cheers
Wilhelm

Re: Aeotec Gen5 firmware just released

Do we know what the upgrade gives us? I'm holding off for now, possibly longer as not obvious why I need to upgrade

Re: Aeotec Gen5 firmware just released

Do we have any real world examples of what this firmware update fixes?

My Z-Stick has been running perfectly fine (as far as I know).

Re: Aeotec Gen5 firmware just released

Has anyone found any information on what the firmware update gives us? I poked around the referenced site and looked inside the firmware package and didn't see anything.

My Z-Wave network works great and if it ain't broke....

I came here to drink milk and kick ass....and I've just finished my milk.

Re: Aeotec Gen5 firmware just released

Same reason I asked earlier as well. Mine works great, other than the devices getting turned off in indigo but now I have code to turn them back on I don't know why I'd upgrade.

Re: Aeotec Gen5 firmware just released

I used the Aeotec backup tool.
To restore the backup to the UZB you have to cut it to half the size.
That is no problem, because the Aeotec tool saves 512 MB but the backup in fact is only 64 MB.
So the backup file contains 8 identical/redundant blocks of the same data.

Re: Aeotec Gen5 firmware just released

Certainly. Unfortunately you cannot set the security key with it. So when you transfer the backup from one stick to another, the securely connected devices have to be reconnected.

To be more precise, the security key transfered from the Aeotec to the UZb doesn't work.
I havent tested backup from UZB to another UZB with security key..

Did they pull the page for the new firmware? The links here go to a page with nothing. Unable to find anything on their site for firmware z-stick gen5

UZB1 -> UZB1 works fine (via Razberry software)
