Qubino RGBW Controller

Does anyone have any experience with the Qubino RGBW controller?

The Qubino RGBW controller is a little cheaper on Amazon than the Fibaro, but not sure if it will work with any plugs ins.. I'm assuming you'll have at least on/off for each of the colors, but not sure what else.

Although the Fibaro works will with both of the LED plugins available in the store, neither do as much as I'd like, although it seems sending out Z-Wave commands might be an option..

I may get one of the Qubino devices just to see what I can do with it...

Indigo 7.4.1 is now available and includes preliminary support for the Qubino Flush RGBW Dimmer (ZMNHWD).

Great news! Has anyone actually set this up? What can be controlled from Indigo- all 4 colors dimmable and preset levels?

I've set up a bunch (14) and generally they seem to work well—I can set the independent RGBW values (in the GUI and in Python), etc.

One issue I have seen, that I'm still investigating, is that the devices seem to "lose sync" w/ Indigo at times—I've seen it after a reboot, but other times as well. I have to go back to each device and do a sync, and then they work fine again. They all have constant 12V power (via a Mean Well power supply) and AFAIK they are all otherwise fine. This is in Indigo 7.4.1. Most of the devices are firmware 2.98 but two are 2.95. I've never seen this before with other devices.

Would love to hear any ideas....

I have a large mix of Fibaro and Qubino devices, and whilst I like some of the hardware features of the Qubino, ie 3 inputs on the dimmer, I just have too many problems with them and despite them being slightly cheaper, I wont be buying them again. I havent yet had the losing sync on them though.

The "no matching device" device errors I've seen after difficulties setting up z-wave devices, but the "does not match device "RGBW LED" messages look new/unusual to me.

If you unplug your Z-Wave Controller (Z-Stick, etc.) for a few seconds and plug it back in do you still get the errors?

I'm not sure...after those errors appear (I had to look back in time in the log to see them) the subsequent attempts to set the color look like

But since then I have manually re-synced the units again (one at a time), and so for now they are working. They next time they fail I'll try doing as you suggest w/ the Z-Stick (Aeotec) and let you know.

It's been a while since this happened, but it happened again. I unplugged the Z-Stick, waited, and re-plugged. I've pasted the log entries below. Afterward it still did not work—the "On" and "Off" would work (white LED only) but none of the color settings. I'd try to use the color picker, set a hue and saturation, but when I tried to set a brightness value the slider would just "snap back" to 0. I had to resync each one to make them work again.

It looks like your Z-Stick has gotten into a bad state (and might still be in a bad state).

Can you re-sync the module that isn't working, then again unplug the Z-Stick for 10 seconds and plug it back in? Copy/paste the results of both of those and I'll dig into it further.

Sorry for the slow reply on this one. Investigating this module some more and it is one of the more complicated dynamic modules that Indigo supports. In particular the "Dimmers mode" setting parameter in the settings UI:

retrieved parameter 14 "Dimmers mode" is 0 "Single RGBW Color Device"

determines how the module is defined and behaves. The current setting you have (based on the sync results you pasted above) is for the module to act as a single RGBW color device. Whenever that setting is changed you have to exclude the module, wait 30 seconds, re-include it, then re-sync it in Indigo. I believe the manual has more details. It is a complicated procedure – I strongly dislike it when modules change how they work, what command classes they support, and require re-excluding/including because a parameter is changed.

Anyhow, I wonder if that is the problem you are experiencing?

Hi Matt. No worries on the turnaround. I know you guys are very busy, and this is not debilitating. Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure whether this is related to what I am seeing. I am not knowingly changing any parameters. I just look up one evening to discover they are no longer working—none of them. As I resync each one, they work again. I don't know what happened in between, but it's possible there was (or I did) a reboot. That's all I can think of.

I've attached a screen shot of the "Edit device settings..." window for one of the modules (it is working—they are all working at the moment). I have also pasted the "Write Device Details to Event Log" log messages below.

I hope something there is interesting or even enlightening...!
