Help understanding Z wave configuration parameters

Hi, a few weeks ago I added a DOME mouser - it was not supported by indigo but it was discovered and I have a Z wave watch / trigger for when the trap sends the z wave command it sends when set off.

The problem I have is when the mouser was included the value for reporting the battery was somehow changed and it is reporting every 5 min (instead of every 12 hours). That is draining the battery too fast (already down to 48%).

How can I change the reporting interval - see below for DOME documentation. What is confusing to me is the configuration does not seem to be the same as changing one of the Prams so I don't understand how to send the new value.

Re: Help understanding Z wave configuration parameters

Hi Norm

Wake_up is not a configuration parameter - which are usually custom specific to the model such as how much electric shock to give the noise.

It’s a Zwave setting for how/where to communicate in Zwave so is set by Zwave commands, not parameters.

Send 0x84 0x04 0x00 0xA8 0xC0 0x01 to your mouser using Zwave > Send Raw Command.

That should be 12 hours.

(00A8C0 is 43,200 seconds)

Re: Help understanding Z wave configuration parameters

Thanks Peter, that might have worked - it is not writing to the log every five min now.

I'm trying to understand the command - 0x84 0x04 0x00 0xA8 0xC0 0x01 - you made for me/

I'm assuming the first 84 is the wakeup command ID but I'm not sure what the next 04 represents - then the 00 A8 C0 = the hex value for 43,200 seconds - that leaves me with the remaining 01 at the end - and I'm not sure what that is.

Is there a book I can read that will explain how this all works - I don't think I have ever come across anything that explains all the different stuff I see in the DOME support documents.

Thanks again for the help - fingers crossed it worked.....

Norm

Re: Help understanding Z wave configuration parameters

84 = WakeUp
04 = Set (Often 01=Get, 02= Set, 03=Report (aka reply)

01 = Where to send the WakeUp, ie node 1

Re: Help understanding Z wave configuration parameters

The raw command Peter showed looks good, but if the module is reporting it supports the wakeup command then in Indigo it should show UI for changing the awake interval (in the device settings dialog) via a popup menu control. Is it not showing that? If not, can you take a screen shot of that window for me?

Re: Help understanding Z wave configuration parameters

Hi Matt - it is there but it does not change the reporting interval - the command peter gave me did not work either - it showed up in the log as sent when the mouser reported but nothing changed and it seems to still be reporting every five min.

Trying to change it with Indigo was the first thing I tried - it looked like it was going to work - it shows up as change pending but the new time interval does not seem to stick -

But as I look in the log now after getting back from the grocery store I don't see the log entries anymore. Maybe it did eventually work.

Can you tell me where / what book I can read to understand how to send commands like peter mentioned?
