configure MultiSensor 6 according to Aeotech recommendations

I'd like to configure my USB/mains powered Multisensor 6 units according to this Aeotech KB article such that

1) it's "always on"
2) it reports at their recommended intervals (or faster).

https://aeotec.freshdesk.com/support/so ... r-6-zw100-

How would I go about this via Indigo?

Does the unit automatically enter "always on" simply by powering it off USB? Attached are my current configs.

ZW100 FAQ wrote:
Parameter Settings Change Recommendations:
• Parameter 101 [4 byte]: 240 (report Light, Humidity, Temperature, and UV)
• Parameter 111 [4 byte]: 30 (report every 30 seconds)
• Parameter 40 [1 byte]: 1 (enable selective reporting, automatically updates reports when passing a threshold)

Indigo always forces parameter 101 to send all 3.
Parameter 111 is the "Delay between reporting sensors values" field in Indigo's UI.
Parameter 40 isn't show in Indigo's UI but you can set it manually via the Interfaces->Z-Wave->Modify Configuration Parameter... menu item.

Yes.

IIRC you need to re-sync after connecting to USB in order to activate the „always on“ function.

Thanks!

And thanks for the resync suggestion. Aeotech support also said if you sync and then change the power source, you need to re-sync it in order for the controller to know its new status.

Apparently it only picks up the "always on" aspect on inclusion.

In that case make sure you don't just re-sync it in Indigo, but first exclude and re-include it in the Z-Stick (then re-sync).

Weird Behavior

I have three Multisensors - all with the same firmware and Aeon Multisensopr 6

I lost connection with two of them so I deleted and reinstalled. One one of the (Node 11) I only see part of the parameter menu. On Node 10 I see all the parameters in the menu?

Waker then re-sync it again. That can occur if the sync doesn't complete or if there are errors when Indigo is trying to retrieve the current configuration parameters.

Can the firmware update be done on a Mac or only a PC with window. All I have is Windows 10 and not sure it can be done on that?

How about updating the z-stick firmware not just the MultiSensor firmware?

Note we discourage folks from using encryption unless the module requires it (all locks) or they really need it (maybe garage door control or motion/door sensors that you feel are critical to be encrypted). Encryption greatly increases the number of commands that have to be sent (much slower) and communication overall is less reliable given the increased possibility of collisions, timing problems, and firmware buglets.
