Trouble adding a Danalock V3

I just picked up a couple of new Z-Wave devices, a Relay Power Switch and a Lock, and am having trouble with the latter.

Adding the Relay Power Switch (an Inovelli NZW36 1-Channel Plug-In Module) went just fine - both Z-Wave network inclusion and syncing.

Different story with the Lock, which is a nifty new Danalock V3 (https://danalock.com/danalock-v3.html), Z-Wave US version. Inclusion into the Z-Wave network worked fine, and it shows up in the node list for syncing when creating a new Z-Wave device in Indigo. But, when I press Sync, it looks promising... but then gets stuck waiting for an ACK from the Lock and times out. Tried multiple times, excluding then re-including, moving the physical position of the lock compared to the Z-Wave stick on my Mac, poking and prodding the lock to make sure it was never asleep.... and no luck.

My Z-Wave interface from Indigo is via an Aeon Labs Aeotec Z-Wave Z-Stick, Gen5 (ZW090).

Any ideas? Here's some relevant event log output - happens in rapid succession, then just hangs and times out after the 'retrieved manufacture..." line; this log output is consistent across all of my attempts.

Code: Select all
Z-Wave                          Syncing - started for "032 - Keypad Door Lock"
Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved module neighbors list: 31
Z-Wave                          Syncing - assigning return route to "032 - Keypad Door Lock"
Z-Wave                          Syncing - assigned return route
   Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved manufacture and model names: Danalock - 010E, Danalock (V3 BTZE) - 00090001
   Z-Wave Error                    Syncing - failed
Z-Wave Error                    Timeout waiting for "032 - Keypad Door Lock". Module might be asleep, or is unreachable.

Seems like the lock just isn't interested in ACK'ing.

Re: Trouble adding a Danalock V3

When you included it into the Z-Stick using Indigo, did you use the encryption option?

Re: Trouble adding a Danalock V3

I have the same problem with the same hardware.

I included by pressing the Z-Stick while holding it close. That part was successful. It's just that the synching fails. Any clues?

Re: Trouble adding a Danalock V3

You have to have the Z-Stick plugged into the Mac and then use Indigo's include with encryption option. It will not work correctly if you include it directly. Before you do that you'll need to exclude it from the Z-Stick. Follow the steps described here.

It worked, partially, when I click on "Sync", the device is not added; I get the usual error "the module can be asleep"

Basically the "syncing" is failing, here the Z-Wave debug log:

Code: Select all

I am using Z-Stick S2
Of course I used the "include with encryption" mode with the Z-Wave controller inserted.

Any idea?

Re: Trouble adding a Danalock V3

After few trials with exclusion/inclusion, it works.
