Aeon ZW121 LED strip

Hey

Managed to pair with this ok.
So from the main Indigo screen if I select it and try altering the colours; it doesn't seem to have any effect.
Brightness seems to work though.

RGBW LED Strip (ZW121), firmware 1.01

Here's a snippet of log output

Re: Aeon ZW121 LED strip

The ZW121 does not support having the RGB LEDs on at the same time as the White LEDs, so you have to turn the White LED brightness sliders down to 0% for the colors to work.

Re: Aeon ZW121 LED strip

Hi Matt,

Yeah I got that. But some colours are wrong or just don't work.
If I use the colour selector; last option with the RGB sliders.

Just Red FF gives visual red (changing the upper 'W' results in no led colour)

Just Green FF gives no led's on. (0,100,0,0,0)

Just Blue FF gives a visual blue.

Perhaps my unit is faulty?
Definitely looks like an issue with green...

Also a slight bug. If the colour picker is up and I go to a different window (i.e. not indigo). When I go back and click on the colour picker any selection isn't reflected in the RGB colour box. Quitting the colour picker and selecting again causes it all to work as it should.

Re: Aeon ZW121 LED strip

If the problem appears that the green LEDs are never coming on (but the others are), then I do think either the module or the LED strip is faulty.

That is the system wide color picker and will change focus when apps are switched. If you click on the color swatch in Indigo it should refocus on Indigo's UI and then work correctly.

Re: Aeon ZW121 LED strip

Will I be able to control the ZW121 with my Z-Stick Series 2 interface? I'm confused on what has to be Z-Wave Plus compatible. And, if not, would the Z-Stick Series 2 work with the Fibaro controller. I'm on the fence between the two and that could certainly push me over. Thanks.

After I posted this, I thought of emailing Aeon. They answered very quickly that it is indeed backward compatible so that doesn't move me off the fence. :| However, their quick support response definitely helps their case.

I ordered the Aeotec mainly because it seems to give more options for white light and may be brighter than most as well.

Gen5 devices are supposed to be backwards compatible so they should all work with the previous generation interfaces like the Series 2 (and we haven't heard of any not working).

Re: Aeon ZW121 LED strip

Works well and looks great! A bit of a pain to solder the pieces around my tv, but doable. Very responsive to Indigo control. Homebridge/Siri can turn it on and adjust brightness; now to figure out the best way to control color. I know I can create and trigger individual color but it would be nice to have Siri change the color in a more flexible way.
