Re: Aeon Labs MultiSensor 6 ZW100 (Indigo7)

Bought several of these sensors (firmware 1.07) to "pair" with my thermostat from different rooms to kick off the AC accordingly. Little did I know that the temperature is not a "push" based but only retrieved by polling. To make things worse it doesn't mater what I configure in my Indigo (see the screen attached) which is currently set to poll every 5 minutes (see the Log output showing 300seconds poll), but the stubborn ZW100 only reports the values every 30 minutes. Does anyone have an idea as why I can't make the devices report the values the way it gets set in Indigo? The sensors are USB powered.

...... Indigo is set to poll every 300seconds:
Z-Wave Debug started polling of "046 - Motion Sensor" approx every 300 seconds
Z-Wave Debug started polling of "047 - Motion Sensor" approx every 300 seconds
.....

.... Indigo is polling every 300 seconds:

Z-Wave Debug polling status of node "047 - Motion Sensor" (defer list)

Mar 26, 2017, 12:25:16 AM
Z-Wave Debug polling status of node "046 - Motion Sensor"

Did you add them to your Z-wave network on battery? Or powered by USB? If you add them on battery then they will only return data periodically on the non-motion sensors...even if you plug them into power afterwards they retain the battery-saver settings from joining.

I always add mine on AC power and even on battery they transmit quickly...they just use up batteries faster.

Hope this helps

thanks srkinard, never had them on batteries though, they've always been on USB from the get go.

You have the reporting interval set to 1800 seconds (30 minutes). This particular module has both a wake interval which can be used for Indigo to push settings changes to it and read the battery level, and a sensor reporting interval. You want to modify the latter in this case.

Well I just installed one of these and my temp is off by about 3 degrees. How do I adjust the temp setting. Does it have to be done with windows software or can it be done thru indigo?

You don't need Windows to just set config parameters - Indigo can do that via Interfaces > Zwave > Set config parameters.

The parameter you need is 201, BUT it depends what firmware your sensor is running, and whether this parameter existed in the older 1.04 firmware if you're on it.

The manual isn't particularly clear on values; it's a two bit value with the first being the increase/decrease you require, and the second being 'C/'F.

Follow the latest link to the manual above, scroll to bottom, and click link to More Advanced Configuration and the 1.07 link.

But you do to update the firmware, correct? Mine are still running out of date firmware because I don't want to go through the exclude/include in windows/exclude in windows/include hassles for them.

Re: Aeon Labs MultiSensor 6 ZW100 (Indigo7)

This is an old thread but I just ran into the problem and found the parameters to use when configuring the gateway. Thought it would be useful.

Configure the Multisensor 6 using your gateway.

Not all gateways have the ability to configure its devices, this step will require a gateway that can make changes to parameter configuration settings. Ask your gateway support team if your gateway supports manual configuration to Z-Wave devices.

Battery Powered
Set these parameter settings:

    Parameter 101 [4 byte] = 241 // report all sensors
Parameter 111 [4 byte] = 240 // set report of sensors to report every 240 seconds or 4 minutes
Wakeup Interval = 240 // This sets the minimum of the report set on Parameter 111-113, if this is higher than parameter 111, this will set the report interval time of your sensors.

Now wait 4 minutes and see if the values start updating. Once you are able to see any readings at all, I would suggest that you change the configuration settings. The setting above will greatly eat up battery power, where you may see around 2-3 weeks worth of battery life. I would recommend the following settings at a very minimum to achieve around a 8 - 12 month battery life (set it higher if you will);

    Parameter 101 [4 byte] = 241 // report all sensors
Parameter 111 [4 byte] = 1200 // set report interval of all sensors to every 1200 seconds.
Wakeup Interval = 1200 // This sets the minimum of the report set on Parameter 111-113, if this is higher than parameter 111, this will set the report interval time of your sensors.

USB Power
On USB power, you have limitless use of configurations, you can easily ignore the wakeup interval, and ignore the amount of battery power you need to save. I would suggest these settings:
    Parameter 101 [4 byte] = 241 // report all sensors
Parameter 111 [4 byte] = 30 // set report interval of all sensors to every 30 seconds.
