Have a look at the configuration window for the new device you just added (the "dependent" one). It should look something like this (an Aeon Mulitsensor 5):
When devices support multiple features, Indigo makes a separate device for each feature. But you'll notice that all the Z-Wave nodes are the same (just like yours):
Indigo uses this model for most devices that support multiple features. Indigo presents them in a device group (but with individual Indigo IDs). If I click on Edit Device Settings above, I get the settings for motion. If I click on humidity and then Edit Device Settings I get the settings for humidity. The left most button in the device group window is the Parent device and it will also hold the "global" settings for the device (like wake time, reporting interval, etc.)
