Re: Fibaro "The Button"

I see exactly that - and that's what I had... however the trigger does nothing on a button press...

Though I do receive the zwave message received from the button..

Re: Fibaro "The Button"

What action have you set your trigger to do and the trigger is enabled? :)

Re: Fibaro "The Button"

Ha yes! Good guess though! - I have it set to "toggle" a lamp, that I tested by clicking on "execute" to do it immediately.

I also used the same trigger to make it work if I choose "any received command" if I choose this option the button works great - but only for single clicks... but limiting :)

Re: Fibaro "The Button"

Can you enable debug logging (via Interfaces->Z-Wave->Configure... menu item), press the button several times, then copy/paste the Event Log results into a reply for me?

Re: Fibaro "The Button"

In the settings dialog, what firmware version does it say your module is?

Re: Fibaro "The Button"

Hello,

Another issue on my side (don't know if it's linked to Indigo or button malfunction) : when I press the button (once or several times), sometimes it's detected as received "Bouton noir" button double tap or received "Bouton noir" button pressed, but very often it's detected like a status request and I have in the log one or several lines (depending the number of clicks) received "022 - Bouton noir" status update battery level 100%.

Re: Fibaro "The Button"

Mine does that as well; it doesn't mean the click etc hasn't been received - it's just trying to be helpful giving you battery status as well.

Re: Fibaro "The Button"

But here the clicks (single, double,...) are not detected. I have only a battery report.
And few times (1/10 clicks) they are well interpreted.
I will test it with another software.

That is exactly the same problem that I had with the first Red Button I had. Matt spent ages trying to get it to work with Indigo in beta testing. It turned out to be a defective button - I returned it for a replacement which is so far working correctly. :)

With my replacement button, when you press the button down, you can hear a definite click. With the original there was no clicking I just got the button pressed message or battery updates. :?

I suspect your button is defective. :|

Re: Fibaro "The Button"

You should be seeing something like this in your log if it is working correctly:
Z-Wave received "Red Button" button pressed
Z-Wave received "Red Button" button double tap
Z-Wave received "Red Button" button triple tap
Z-Wave received "Red Button" button quadruple tap
Z-Wave received "Red Button" button quintuple tap
Z-Wave received "Red Button" button held down
Z-Wave received "Red Button" button released
Z-Wave received "Red Button" button held down
Z-Wave received "Red Button" button held down
Z-Wave received "Red Button" button held down
Z-Wave received "Red Button" button held down
Z-Wave received "Red Button" button held down
Z-Wave received "Red Button" button held down
Z-Wave received "Red Button" button held down
Z-Wave received "Red Button" button released

Re: Fibaro "The Button"

Ah! That looks like what I'd like to see! :) - I see this, no matter what I press:

Z-Wave received "MasterRm-Button" scene 32537

The scene ID always stays the same for 1 press, and is different for each 2, 3, 4, etc!

Seems the scene ID isn't being translated into a "button press"...

Re: Fibaro "The Button"

Actually, I think the problem is that your module is sending the scene commands with the Slow Refresh flag set. Indigo isn't properly ignoring that flag, so it doesn't find a scene match. I don't know why your module is setting that flag. According to the docs, "This flag is used to advertise if the node is sending Key Held Down notifications at a slow rate."

I will modify the next version of Indigo to ignore that flag, which should help. I'm not sure if the module is malfunctioning or not.
