ZME-6443 again

Hi Matt,

We already "had some fun" with these (http://forums.indigodomo.com/viewtopic.php?f=84&t=11802), but somehow things have changed again and I've noticed it just yesterday while I had to exchange a defective one of these dimmers. Value 4 is missing for configuration parameters 13 and 14. No big deal as one can modify it manually. The bigger problem is that the status request was no longer available - and it was before.

As this was working I've polled the brightness level on Dim-/Bright-Stop commands because the ZME-6443 didn't report its brightness level to Indigo. For that I had a trigger "dim/brighten stop received". This trigger is no longer available and has changed to "scene dim/brighten stop received" which in fact does nothing in Indigo. That trigger has executed "Universal Controls" >>> "Request Full Status Update" which is no longer available for these dimmers (I've 2 of them).

I think I've an idea on the reason of this: There are 2 completely different devices which are recognized as ZME-6443 by Indigo. One is the dimmer and the other one is a remote controller for wall mount, both from POPP/Düwi (AFAIK they belong to Z-Wave.me now) with firmware by Z-Wave.me. Here's the link to the dimmer http://manuals.zwaveeurope.com/make.php?lang=en&type=&sku=ZME_05433 and the remote controller http://manuals.zwaveeurope.com/make.php?lang=en&type=&sku=ZME_054436.

Forgot to mention: I've 3 of these remote controllers and besides they ignore their neighbors, they function as expected.

I hope you can provide a solution for this problem. Maybe a work around could be to send a status request as raw Z-Wave command?

Cheers,
Ben

Re: ZME-6443 again

Hi Ben,

Can you re-sync both the battery operated version and the non-battery operated version for me and copy/paste the Event Log results? We will get this fixed in the next bug fix release.

To force a status request try sending the raw hex bytes 0x26 0x02.

Re: ZME-6443 again

Hi Matt,

Status request by sending raw bytes works, had to create a 10 secs. schedule with condition device is not off.

Here the log result for the dimmer:
Code: Select all

  Z-Wave                          Syncing - complete

The sync of the remote controller has changed something: In Indigo's device list its model name is "Portable Remote Controller" now. Before its model name was "Remote Switch (ZME-6443)". I had resynced all of these just 2 weeks ago as I've made the change from Z-Stick S2 to Z-Stick Gen5. More confusion for me...

Thanks again for your help!

Cheers,
Ben

Re: ZME-6443 again

Just received an error from that resynced remote controller:
Code: Select all
Z-Wave Error                    failed to find device parm description for module 155, index 11
Z-Wave Error                    failed to find device parm description for module 155, index 11

Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved module neighbors list: - none -

  Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved class hierarchy: Controller : Portable Controller : Portable Remote Controller (01 : 01 : 01, base 00)

Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved wake interval of 28 minutes
Z-Wave                          Syncing - device "155 - Funktaster Balkontuer" wake interval changed to 30 minutes
  Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved group 1 associations: [147]
  Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved group 2 associations: [147]
Z-Wave                          Syncing - group 1 association to interface already exists (skipping)
Z-Wave                          Syncing - group 2 association to interface already exists (skipping)
Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved parameter 11 "Reverse switch controls" is false
Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved parameter 13 "Action on single tap or hold (0: disabled, 1: basic, 2: all on/off, 3: scene)" is 3
Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved parameter 14 "Action on double tap or hold (0: disabled, 1: basic, 2: all on/off, 3: scene)" is 3
Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved parameter 15 "All on/off command types (1: all off, 2: all on, 255: both)" is 1
Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved battery level of 81%
  Z-Wave                          Syncing - complete

Now its model name is again "Remote Switch (ZME-6443)".

Re: ZME-6443 again

So the remote controller device changed its model name in Indigo when you sync'd it, then changed back on the next sync?

Unfortunately your log snippet you included above for the case of it showing "Portable Remote Controller" is incomplete. You started the copy/paste on the "retrieved protocol version" line, but to debug why it might have changed model names I need to see the line immediately before that one which starts with "retrieved manufacture and model names". Your next sync of that module (last post in this thread) is complete but that it sounds like that is the case where the model name went back to the correct name. Although correct name may be an overstatement because based on your description several posts above it should show "ZME 054436", correct?

Re: ZME-6443 again

Hi Matt,

So the remote controller device changed its model name in Indigo when you sync'd it, then changed back on the next sync?
Yes, that's exactly what happened. I think the first sync was incomplete though Indigo says it was completed. I've noticed this behavior a few times since I have the Z-Stick Gen5.

but to debug why it might have changed model names I need to see the line immediately before that one which starts with "retrieved manufacture and model names".
I've overseen that as there're several lines of other actions in the log. Here they're:
Code: Select all
Z-Wave   Syncing - started for device "Funktaster Balkontuer"
Z-Wave   Syncing - retrieved module neighbors list: - none -

Although correct name may be an overstatement because based on your description several posts above it should show "ZME 054436", correct?
Yes, the remote controller with the Z-Wave.me firmware has this model name. I'm using the first of the 3 I have since 2013. Indigo has it always recognized as "ZME-6443". To make the model confusion perfect: I've 2 of these remote controllers with the original firmware by POPP/Düwi (no changes or extensions by Z-Wave.me). These were and are also recognized as "ZME-6443" and are associated directly to 2 Fibaro shutter modules.

Cheers,
Ben
