Re: Aeotec MultiSensor6

Thats a pretty handsome looking device and so is the new Smart Switch 6. I've been holding off on adding devices to Indigo based on what Aeon Labs is cooking up.

I also think this is a great looking device and makes the old Multi-sensor look like a dinosaur. I have a feeling that Z-wave devices will continue to improve at a pace similar to computers.

Re: Aeotec MultiSensor6

This device looks cool, but perhaps a stupid question -- they mention encrypted communications... is this using the secured channel or whatever the heck they call it that the locks use (and thus Indigo can't access) or is this merely part of the protocol and marketing speak?

AFAIK it is a standard feature that comes with Z-Wave Plus.

There is a good write up on Z-Wave Plus (Series 500) on the Aeotec site :)

Agree that z-wave is growing like crazy. Look at that anouncement:

If you followed the news from the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show you probably heard Samsung’s CEO BK Yoo announce his commitment to creating interconnected devices; stating that by 2017, almost all of Samsung products will be optimized with smart home technology.

Yoo is proving his commitment to the internet of things by making great strides toward investing in smart home technology through the purchase of SmartThings, a maker of wireless smart-home kits. Following this acquisition, SmartThings has joined the Z-Wave Alliance Board of Directors.

I have two of these, but they don't work yet with Indigo. Submitted details.

Re: Aeotec MultiSensor6

Indigo does not yet support the MultiSensor 6. We will not be announcing any ETA, but supporting all Aeotec modules is a high priority for us.

Re: Aeotec MultiSensor6

Any updates on this? I recently acquired one and was somewhat surprised that it didn't work, given previous support for Aeotec products. It's quite a nice little sensor, and I'd love to be able to use it.

I have two in my box of things that look cool but don't work in Indigo. It would be nice to empty that box!
