[ANSWERED]: Catching events on a Vizia RF+ VRCZ4-MR

Hi,

After a few trials and errors, I successfully included both the zone controller and the local load relay associated with a new Vizia RF+ VRCZ4-MR. See details for those 2 devices at the end of this post.

My 2 problems are:

1. I see no way of "catching" the event raised by a button push. E.g., if I create a "Device State Changed" trigger on the controller device (node ID 56 below), nothing ever happens.
2. I thought I would create a workaround by associating an on-off virtual device to each of the 4 zones I want to control. Unfortunately, virtual devices don't show up in the of devices I can associate. Note that I can successfully associate physical devices, but I really want to create more complex scenarios, hence the need to either catch the z-wave event or associate it with a virtual device.

Thanks for advising!

See this forum thread – this one is still on our request list.

And FYI - you can't directly associate a Z-Wave device with a virtual device - because a direct association requires Z-Wave on both sides.

Re: [ANSWERED]: Catching events on a Vizia RF+ VRCZ4-MR

Matt & Jay - Sounds like sfhome and I may be in a similar boat soon if I add a couple of these to my home... It looks like my existing zone controllers do not show up when creating a z-wave event / z-wave command trigger, but my scene controllers do. Could the answer just be using the scene controller version w/switch (http://www.leviton.com/OA_HTML/ProductD ... =VRCS4-MRZ)? If so (and we may have discussed this before), is there any way to know when a scene is disabled? Assume it is possible to have multiple "scenes" active when triggering off of the button press and not relying on the built-in associations? Thanks!

I've posted a plugin that works specifically for the Levtion VRCZ4. It configures all the scenes and buttons for you and defines events to use with triggers.

Zone-Scene Handler Plugin
