Re: DSC Alarm Plugin

I'm using a IT-100. I also have a escort module and thermostat and a intercom module connected to the alarm. Could that be giving me the errors? Also, I'm not getting any info on LCDLine 1= and LCDLine2 =. Here is the log. Thank You.

Re: DSC Alarm Plugin

I got the info I needed. There's a glitch in the LCD message parsing. I'll have it fixed soon.

- Support for DSC temperature sensors has also been added.

Download the plugin again from the original post.

+1 Korey

Was just thinking to myself I need to check in to how much it would cost to replace my NS8 with a DSC panel... :D

Extremely cool Travis - thanks a ton for the contributions (you've nicely illustrated exactly why we wanted to spend so much time getting the plugin API right). Once you feel they're ready for primetime, feel free to post them in the File Library where it will be easier for people to find. You can point back to their respective threads or create new user-oriented (non-development) threads in the User Contributions forum.

Thanks Jay! Now that I've gotten the hang of Python, developing these plugins has been quite enjoyable. You guys have done a great job on the API.

Actually I have a question or two for you Jay. The alarm zones and alarm keypad devices this plugin uses are custom devices. Indigo doesn't show a state for them in the device list, it lists them in the box below the window. Which makes sense, because there are multiple states, which one would it show. Is there a way to make one of the states the default state that Indigo will show in the Device List?

Also, the custom devices don't seem to have the option of being shown remotely. I'm pretty sure I understand why, there are so many variables at play here, each plugin would want different states to be displayed, it would be tricky to implement. Just wondering if I'm doing something wrong or if this is something that will be added in time.

After a bit of testing I'll definitely post these in the library and create a different thread.

Thanks again, great work! :D

Re: DSC Alarm Plugin

I've also received a request for the ability to trigger different events based on which alarm user arms/disarms the alarm. I'll get that added shortly as well.

If anyone has the PC-5401 interface board it'd be great if you can test this plugin with it and report back. So far I believe it's only been tested with the IT-100.

Yep - add this to your <Device> element in Devices.xml:

Code: Select all
<UiDisplayStateId>stateIdHere</UiDisplayStateId>

with the right state ID and that state will be shown in the "State" column of the device table.

We're still noodling how to make remote custom device UI's work. The problem is not only what state data to show (and how), but what controls (if any) we show, how to specify the UI (if any), etc. - lots of unknowns. We may not get it working for GM - it just depends on what we come up with, how much time it will take to implement, and whether we can get something in for Indigo Touch without a code change.

Understood. It's really not that big of a deal. I'd definitely vote for the ability to use device states in the condition editor over this. :D

Thanks

Re: DSC Alarm Plugin

This is an excellent plugin, its well don, works great.
I was wondering if you can add a few things to the keypad?
You have Armand stay, arming away, and Disarm. Can you add panic alarm, fire alarm, and medical.
And can you add key-presses, that would be great, 1-0 *, #, to be able to create a virtual keyboard thanks again.

Yes that shouldn't be too hard. If you've used this before in the Applescript version, did you find you had to send the "Virtual Keypad Control On" command (058) before you could start sending key presses (cmd 070)?

Re: DSC Alarm Plugin

Version 0.9.3 released:
- Device states now show up properly in the Device List. Unfortunately existing devices have to be deleted and recreated for this fix to take effect.
- Added ability to trigger Fire, Medical, and Panic alarms.
- Added ability to send keypad key presses or even key strings.
- Added events that trigger when the alarm is armed or disarmed by a particular user.

Re: DSC Alarm Plugin

Works Great!!!!.
You can even program the alarm with it.
Now if we could just get Jay ore Matt to add button sounds on control pages in Indigo.

Re: DSC Alarm Plugin

Bit of a noob, hoping to get steered the right way.

Having a DSC1832 installed and the installer told me a TL-250 comes with it. Will this work module work? I was unclear after reading that other poster's comment.

Also, has the "Stay" feature been fixed for the TL-150/250?

Thanks for the hard work!
