Sorry for the confusion, when I say UI I'm referring to the indigo server application window, as I was watching the device states there. I have a motion with an LED indicator, and under normal circumstances it reports immediately, LED on = motion, LED off = no motion. All my zones freeze a couple of seconds after the disarm event, according to the device list (maybe quit updating in real time). I will dig deeper at an appropriate hours for the sirens to go off, and see if said zones will still trigger other automations.

But I guess the point is moot bc I just ordered 3 sets of the some similar hinges, I had no idea that type was in the residential market.

I figured out what is going on. The UI is not frozen but as you noticed the zone states are frozen. This is a feature of the plugin to preserve open zone states during an alarm event. The problem I noticed is when one disarms a keypad induced panic alarm (also applies to keypad fire alarms) the DSC panel does not respond with a disarm acknowledgment. This causes a few problems, like in your case the plugin thinks the alarm is still going on.
I think I figured out a work around. Can you try this version and let me know if it works in your case. I willl then incorporate those changes in the next official release.
