DSC intermittent socket error

Running Indigo 6.0.11 and the latest version of the DSC plugin. I got everything setup and working correctly however I occasionally loose my connection to the envisalink.
Note that when the indigo plugin looses connection the Eyezon web interface to the envisalink still works so this tells me the problem is with indigo or the plug in. I have tried stopping and restarting the indigo server and disabling and enabling the plugin but this doesn't fix it. It just seems to randomly fix itself after a while.
Error as follows:

DSC Alarm Debug getConfiguration start
DSC Alarm Debug Configuration read successfully
DSC Alarm Initializing communication at address: envisalink:4025
DSC Alarm Error Error opening socket: Could not open port socket://envisalink:4025: (61, 'Connection refused')
DSC Alarm Plugin will attempt to re-initialize again in 3 minutes.

I found an older link that discussed the same socket issue and some library changes that fixed this for some people however it was applicable to an older version of indigo and the plugin. The thread said that this issue was fixed in newer versions of indigo.

Is this an old issue surfacing again? Any ideas?
