X10 Door Sensor

I'm looking for a way to have a door sensor send an X10 signal.

The application is that I'd like to have a light turn on anytime that a door is opened. People will be walking by the door constantly, so a motion detector won't work. I just want it to turn on when the door is opened.

Any ideas or has anyone done this before?

Re: X10 Door Sensor

Hi Brian,

You can use a magnetic reed door/window switch in combination with a PowerFlash module. For information on using the Powerflash module with Indigo, read over this post.

An alternative, but more expensive approach, is to use the X10 security door/window sensor (DS10A) and the W800RF32.

Regards,
Matt
