Manual for IBM REmote Control

Hi there,

I have misplaced my manual for an "IBM Home Director" Remote control (model HD23A) and cannot figure out the device code for my TV. I've searched the web for these "device codes" (Mitsubishi TV), and even tried the Leviton Remote Control (very similar in look, just missing the backlight), but those codes don't seem to work on this remote.

Does anybody out there in Home AUtomation land have this remote's "manual", and willing to post/scan/mail me copies of the appropriate device codes for the unit?

I'd greatly appreciate it.

Steve

Re: Manual for IBM REmote Control

Hi Steve,

For Mitsubishi try these:

042, 068, 069, 078, 079, 080, 081, 082, 083, 084, 085, 086, 087, 119, 126, 136.

Regards,
Matt

Unfortunately, none of those seem to work. This remote is probably two or thee years old, if that makes a difference....

TIA, Steve

Hi Steve,

I'm not sure why none of the above worked. I got them from the manual I have for a Home Director (model HD23A) remote. :-(

Wonder if the infrared finally "died". That's a good idea to check out. The X10 functionality still works.... Do you by chance have the codes for Sony. I'll try it on a different TV.... :)

I'll have to dig the manual out in a bit. In the mean time, you could test the IR with a digital camera (or camcorder) view finder. Those guys normally pick up enough IR that you should see the LED flashing.

Matt,

Got it. You don't have to know to proper code.... Hold down SETUP until the LED lights, press TV device, and then hit the "Channel +" until the channel changes. When that happens, press ENT(ER) and everything's back to normal now.

Since each click of "Channel +" goes up one code, I think the Mitsubishi TV is code 8 or 9. But it doesn't matter too much since it works again....

Sorry for any trouble....
