Dedicated HW for Indigo Touch?

I'm looking for a replacement for my Sony Dashes (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony_Dash). Always-on 7-10 inch screen showing weather, camera feeds, time etc. I've built a control page I like. Doesn't have to be touch though that would be nice.

I'm thinking of buying iPad minis but am concerned about leaving them plugged in and screen on 24/7 and the battery expanding (have heard this can happen after a year).

Fire tablets would be a lot cheaper, but also have a batter and the same concerns.

Then there are 10 inch RasPi screens that could work.

Curious if others have found a solution for this, or if my concern over ipads is overblown and I should just go that route?

I've got a couple of old iPads that are on 24/7/365 for a couple of years now. No problem with the batteries or display over all that time.

I’ve had 3 Fire tablets (two 7’s, one 8) running 24/7 for almost a year (using Domopad). No problems here and incredibly cost effective.

I have an iPad3 that I purchased back in 2012 for hosting control pages. It has been on 24/7 since 2012 except for a few power outages.

Actually, I didn't start using my iPad3 as a dedicated display for control pages till the 2015 timeframe. So only about 5 years of 24/7/364.
