The best / ultimate home automation platform?

In short - today upgraded my MacPro "Trashcan" to 12 core Xeon.
~ 80% performance increase.

Running Indigo + a lot of plugins + Security Spy (12 HD cameras with AI / HD recognition) - now ~20% CPU load. Used to be ~90%.

Ebay price for a new CPU is around 200$.
Used to be ~3000$ :)

The procedure is quite simple. Highly recommended as a "high-end home automation engine".

nice... I wasn't aware there was any processor upgrade options for the trashcan units!

Computer says no.

Re: The best / ultimate home automation platform?

I have a 12 processor 2012 pro. And utilization is small too < 10% w virtual box and UniFi video ...

But I just learned the support for 2012 Mac Pro is ending, no upgrade to Catalina .. only w hacks.
How long will the 2013 be supported. Just one more year = Catalina is the last one ?

Wow! What are you using for AI/ recognition? Built in Security Spy? That’s still a light load!
