Indigo Domotics

I got selected to be a beta tester for a new product called Camect. It came yesterday and I have it up and running. So easy to use and set up. They said they plan to have a full API so I hope someday a plug-in is developed for it. Even without the integration to indigo it is really nice - it found all my cameras and my doorbell (nest hello) and processes video from them all (including my Arlos) 24/7 365.

All video is processed and kept locally with I really like but it also lets you push up clips to google cloud (If you want). It integrates withTelegram so I can get alerts on any of my devices and telegram supports animated GIFs (and is really fast). https://telegram.org - full API for telegram - it would make a really nice indigo plug-in also.

It works really good - it just notified me about a delivery truck (about 2 min ago).....

Looks like it may become a viable alternative to securityspy and only a bit more expensive. I need between 12 and 15 cameras...so a comparable expense to my securityspy software. I like the ai if it works. We’re doing some of this with systems we’re currently developing and it sure beats masking.

You might be tight on that...
"Camect supports about 24M of total camera resolution (e.g. 12 1080p cameras) of average scene complexity."

I suspect the more (simultaneous) movement / analysis it has to do, the fewer cameras can be supported.

Most of my cams are 3MP and 4MP. I’m currently doing 8 frames per second. An nVidia Jetson TX2 or Xavier may be a better choice... with the right software. Not sure.

I'm running three 8MP Hikvisions, 4 arlo pros (@720P) and an nest doorbell (@1600x1200) -- it is handling it all, no problem. I'm very happy I got one and can't wait to see how far they can take the unit in terms of individual recognition...

This looks amazing! I rely on the Arlo cloud services, which sometimes let me down (with no way to get an alert when my cameras go offline!)

Do you know if there's any way to get this Camect box hooked in to Indigo? I have a bunch of automations that rely on the motion detectors in my Arlo Pro2 cameras and I would hate to lose that.

Also, does it work with Ecobee SmartCameras?

Yes, here is the Plugin

Yes, I use the Camect plug-in and it is great - I still have some old Arlo cameras that are working but I have them set up to only activate when I'm away from home. They can be configured to work within Camect but you really don't want to do that since you will be streaming video from the Arlo cloud back to your camect and it will eat up a lot of bandwidth. If you have unlimited high speed data from your ISP, not an issue but I don't (only 1.2 terabytes).

Normal cameras are much cheaper (vice Arlos), much much faster to access when you keep it all local and don't burn up bandwidth.
