I have the 24 port and you can not have that in a room where people are.

There are some discussions to replace the fans with very quite ones on the UniFi discussion forums

I have the 24 Port Switch in our spare bedroom and replaced the 2 x stock fans with 4 x Noctua NF-A4x20 FLX 40mm Chipset Fan https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Noctua-NF-A4x20-FLX-40mm-Chipset-Fan/183506136808?hash=item2ab9d16ee8:g:OW0AAOSwpY5b0zFA:rk:7:pf:0
I fixed them with 3M double sided tape on the base and can hardly hear the switch now when next to it and it is silent in the room when the wardrobe door is closed.

"I have the 24 Port Switch in our spare bedroom and replaced the 2 x stock fans...."
Interested in some more details if you could:
-- replaced 2 fans with 4 Noctua?
-- taped them not screws?
-- and may be some pictures

The 24 port comes with 2 fans at one end and nothing at the other so I decided to add 2 extra to extract at the other end and increase airflow.

It is much cooler running and whisper quiet compared to standard.

Spare 2 pin power connectors on board and loads of cables supplied with the fans meant easy setup.

I found that the Noctua mounting holes did not quite match the switch and I did not want to file out the holes so as the fan is so wide on its base that some thick 3M tape held them in place and to give some extra noise absorbance (not that it needed it in the end) compared to screwing to the side like the original fans.

Found the pictures I took but now realise I should have taken one of the finished job!

I actually ended up getting a 48 port 500w Unifi switch today and surprisingly it’s actually a lot quieter than I was expecting.. certainly a lot quieter than the old avaya switch it replaced which I’d even disabled half the fans on!
