So with Weather Underground about to be unusable I've been looking at alternatives. Anyone using or have thoughts on the Ambient Weather WS-2000 ?

I can’t help you on WS-2000 but I think that you should consider the new weather station from Weatherflow.

I have been eyeing the WS-2000 as well, seems to have good reviews, and a nice display on the console. although the humidity does not appear to read under 10% (a bit of an issue here in the desert).

I was originally going to pick up a Davis VP2 system , but the console's interface is stuck in the 90's. and everything is extra $$$ with Davis, so it was looking to be close to 1K to get what I wanted.

I'll update this thread if and when I pull the trigger.

Is there an Indigo plug in for either Ambient Weather WS-2000 or Weatherflow?

I believe WeatherSnoop supports it (and thus the WeatherSnoop plugin for Indigo should work for it), though it has to get the data from Ambient's cloud service rather than locally. At least that was the answer when I asked them specifically about the WS-2902...

So I ended up getting an ws-2000, so far happy with it, I can use weathersnoop to grab station data . Getting data locally requires some additional hardware. Ambient Weather ObserverIP is basically a console without a display but has a local data http page output so that could be scrubbed for the data, but it looks like weewx running on a pi may well provide more options, Ordered the ObserverIP so I'll know more in a week or so. it would appear that weewx allows for interfacing addition sensors, The plan is a weather subsystem, like I use Blue Iris for Cameras.

Hi zabazoom. I'm about to buy either a WS-2902c or a WS-1550-ip (which comes with an ObserverIP). Did you ever make progress on utilizing the local html from the ObseverIP? Thanks!

FYI, I just learned from Ambient Weather that, in a month, they're releasing an API to get data directly from the WS-2902. I just ordered one since now I don't need to be concerned about their cloud service going away.
