Indigo - Home Automation - User Group - DFW area

Indigo has more than 100 users in the Dallas Fort Worth area.
Would anyone be interested in starting a user group in our area?

Potential topics:

- Share successful and un-successful projects - Hard and Software
- Be able to ask "stupid" questions
- tips and tricks
- Classes on eg Indigo programming, hardware setup
- Start some common projects
..
-- and get some volume discount on MAChomeStore

Great idea, Karl.

If enough folks are interested in a meeting, then I would definitely try to attend!

Sure. You all can come visit my place and help me install my solar panels (presuming the city council approves the application... )

And count me in. I'll probably have some MacHomeStore coupons in hand. :)

I generally pay in beer once the roof work is done.

Norm will be sending an email to his customers (MAChomestore) in the DFW area announcing the user group. It looks as if not all of the potential users are checking the website on a regular basis.

let us see how the feed is from an emailing campaign.

Yep, mailing went out last night to customers with Dallas/Fort Worth zip codes. Responses are coming back.

In the email was a very informal "survey" that Karl composed. Feel free to give your responses via this Forum thread if we missed you on our DFW mail out.
------------------

Are you interested in an Indigo - Home automation User group?
- Y/N

What are you interested in?
Exchanging ideas; Things that worked for you, did not work practice, how to..
- hardware
- software

What is your technical level?
- beginner
- can do some things myself
- do most things myself
- expert

What other areas would you be interested in
-
-
Would you be willing to invest some time
- Y/N

How often would you like to meet, once a
- week
- month
- quarter

I didn't get one -- I hope you included the 760xx side of the Metroplex. ;)

My hunch would be that quarterly would be sufficient, but maybe there's more interest than I think.

I like seeing what people have done get an overview of how they configured the problem that solved their problem. .

Gulp!

My oversight. I didn't include the 760xx Zip people. I did not catch that. They definitely should be included. Will get those people notified tonight. I see some familiar active Indigo users that need to get the word.
