Re: New Z-Wave Flood Sensor

Received my flood sensor (I want it to detect water leaks under the sink in the kitchen), installed it and the water sensor works fine going off and on as you would expect.

One minor irritation is that the sensor is confused by the metal surface fitted on the bottom of the cupboard under the sink so I am having to think of an alternative location.

It is indeed a pretty object.

Re: New Z-Wave Flood Sensor

I've added support to an internal build for the Flood Sensor's (FGFS111) temperature sensor, and maybe (not sure if it works) the tilt sensor. If you want to try it then send me an email (indigo-support AT perceptiveautomation.com).

Re: New Z-Wave Flood Sensor

Matt, i've installed the new Z Wave library and re-sync'd the flood sensor. The additional devices ( temperature and tilt ) showed up. The Temperature sensor doesn't seem to update however, it hasn't updated since just after i re-sync'd about 16 hours ago. The tilt sensor doesn't recognise when you actually tilt the device

Re: New Z-Wave Flood Sensor

Hello guys,

I have installed this Fibaro Flood sensor and the basic functions are working with Indigo.
But; when this little nice miracle feels water, the acoustic and visual signal keeps playing,
until it feels no water anymore.
These parameters can be changed, but not in Indigo at the moment.
Is it possible to change this in the next update?

Thanks and kind regards,

John

Try Indigo 6.0.3 which we just release. I added the additional parameter for the visual/audible alarm settings.

Re: New Z-Wave Flood Sensor

Thanks for the fast update Matt.

I changed the Audible / visual settings.
Than I got this message:
Z-Wave Error Timeout waiting for "032 - Flood Sensor". Module might be asleep, or is unreachable.
But I push the Tamper switch (and Tilt and Flood sensor) many times:

2013-10-07 17:47:45 Z-Wave sent "032 - Tilt/Tamper" status request
2013-10-07 17:47:45 Z-Wave sent "032 - Temperature" status request
2013-10-07 17:47:45 Z-Wave received "Flood Sensor" status update is off
2013-10-07 17:47:45 Z-Wave received "032 - Tilt/Tamper" status update is on
2013-10-07 17:47:45 Z-Wave received "032 - Temperature" sensor update to 19.15 °C
2013-10-07 17:47:45 Z-Wave received "032 - Flood Sensor" status update battery level 61%

2013-10-07 17:47:44 Z-Wave Syncing - retrieved setting: "Audible / visual alerts (0 for none, 1 for LED, 2 for audible, 3 for both)" is 3

Only when the Flood Sensor itself wakes up, the settings changed:

2013-10-07 17:49:54 Z-Wave received "Flood Sensor" status update is on
2013-10-07 17:49:55 2013-10-07 17:47:45 Z-Wave sent "032 - Tilt/Tamper" status request
2013-10-07 17:47:45 Z-Wave sent "032 - Temperature" status request
2013-10-07 17:47:45 Z-Wave received "Flood Sensor" status update is off
2013-10-07 17:47:45 Z-Wave received "032 - Tilt/Tamper" status update is on
2013-10-07 17:47:45 Z-Wave received "032 - Temperature" sensor update to 19.15 °C
2013-10-07 17:47:45 Z-Wave received "032 - Flood Sensor" status update battery level 61%
-Wave received "Flood Sensor" status update is off
2013-10-07 17:50:01 Z-Wave device "032 - Flood Sensor" setting "Audible / visual alerts (0 for none, 1 for LED, 2 for audible, 3 for both)" changed to 0
2013-10-07 17:50:06 Z-Wave received "032 - Tilt/Tamper" status update is on

Can you tell me why the settings only changed with an wakeup and not when I push the switch on the Flood Sensor itself?
I have some other Z-Wave stuff and I discovered the same "strange" change-settings problems.
When the wakeup interval is more then an hour, the settings can't be changed at an earlier moment by the user?

And after this change, the Flood Sensor keeps bleeping and flashing when it feels water, only after the next wake up interval, it stops crying :-) Thanks! (I live on a dike and with high rainfall I got a lot of water in my garden, so the flood sensor helps me to control the water pump :-) )

Greetings,

John

It depends. Some modules when pressing a physical button on the module will wake up and tell the Z-Stick they are awake. Others might send a message but don't really wake up (and thus aren't receptive to commands to change settings, etc.). It depends on the module. When Indigo gets the "I'm Awake Now" message is when it will try to change settings. If that doesn't occur when you press a button on the module, then Indigo isn't getting that message.

Did the lack of update from the Temperature sensor ever get resolved? I've just installed one of these in the bathroom and Flood/Tilt sensors working fine. Temperature worked well initially (I saw three or four updates) but now it seems to have settled down and is not updating any more???

To speed the collection of data I've set the refresh window to 5 minutes. Here is the device information:

Code: Select all
Indigo Z-Wave Version: 1.0.143

From the z-wave debug log I'm seeing the following:

Code: Select all
Z-Wave Debug                    RCVD nodeAwake: 01 08 00 04 00 09 02 84 07 7B
  Z-Wave Debug                    . .  nodeAwake: node 009

  Z-Wave                          received "009 - Sensor - Bathroom - Flood" status update battery level 100%
  Z-Wave Debug                    . .  nodeAwake: inhibit count-- to 0
Z-Wave Debug                    . .  nodeAwake: stopping inhibit sleep timer
  Z-Wave Debug                    SENT goToSleep: 01 09 00 13 09 02 84 08 05 3F 58

Then five minutes later:

Code: Select all
Z-Wave Debug                    RCVD nodeAwake: 01 08 00 04 00 09 02 84 07 7B
  Z-Wave Debug                    . .  nodeAwake: node 009
  Z-Wave Debug                    . . . . . . . : skipping battery check (next check in 712 mins)
  Z-Wave Debug                    SENT goToSleep: 01 09 00 13 09 02 84 08 05 42 25

And this then repeats ... No word of a temperature update?

Any clues?

Jeremy.

Re: New Z-Wave Flood Sensor

And then I read the manual!

The device only sends a temperature update if there is an update to provide! Reducing the sensitivity of the device to increments of 0.01c has ensured it wakes up and provides more granular reporting of the room's temperature.

Re: New Z-Wave Flood Sensor

I just received my FIBARO flood sensor and I was able to sync the first time. I placed it on a water surface and the unit started beeping but the push notification I had configured in INDIGO when the sensor closes never arrived. It is not updating the state and now every time I rsync it fails with communication error to z-wave network timed out or the device is asleep. I went through the basic troubleshooting steps and tried to remove it from my z-wave network and then adding it again, but it still fails to sync. I then performed a reset on the flood sensor as outlined in their manual and included the device into my z-wave network again and it now shows up with a new address but it still fails to sync?

When I pick up the unit, the tilt sensor does beep and it also beeps in water, so it is functional this far.

On my first sync, I did not see any of the additional device like tilt or temp?

jeremyjjr:

I was comparing your device info against mine and noticed that yours is showing model as "Leak Sensor" and mine as "Alarm Sensor"?

Just got home and I was able to sync my sensor, but it is not changing state when exposed to water?

I should mention that I used manual inclusion.
