I'm not sure about the curl syntax from AppleScript, but how many of the NOAA variable values are you using? If it is just a few of them, then you can pretty quickly migrate to using the plugin by: enabling the plugin, creating a plugin NOAA device for your weather station, creating individual Triggers to push the new NOAA device plugin's states into the existing variable values your other logic is dependent on:

Then you don't have to alter any of your existing Triggers or Control Pages, and you can later migrate those over to use the device states instead of variable values.
