Robotic Vacuums

Is there such a thing as a list of supported robotic vacuums for this plugin?

Re: Robotic Vacuums

No list as far as I'm aware, but here's one:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0BQBQJ784/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and I've also used Maxcom models such as:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08XMFTMV5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Generally speaking, I imagine any robot vac with Smart Home connectivity should be OK, provided you can add it to the Tuya app.

Oh perfect, I’ve just ordered one of the lubluelu ones! Thanks :)

Re: Robotic Vacuums

That lubluelu one looks a great deal vs > £500. Although main use case for us is the kitchen which has 6 stools around the island, and 6 chairs around the table where inevitably most of the mess is with 3 kids and I dont think it would cope.

I am interested though what the use case is to integrate with Indigo, other than we can. If you can ask it to run via voice when needed, and schedule during the night.

Re: Robotic Vacuums

The plugin allows you to start and stop/dock the vac, so all the usual Indigo logic is available. For example, clean during the night, or when everyone is out, or clean rooms when they’re unoccupied.

In my case it's mostly to be able to keep all scheduling and triggering within Indigo as I hate having separate systems for things. Sure you can schedule these things using their own apps, but it's much easier if I set it to automatically start running when the alarm is set to away mode or tell Siri to start it via the HomeKitLink-Siri plugin or whatever. Also makes it a lot easier for the wife as her only access to the automation system is via the Home app, so if everything that's relevant is published through that it saves for any confusion (or accidental deletion of scripts that she's managed to do before :D )

So this arrived yesterday and I've set it up this morning in the Tuya app. I've tried to add it to the plugin but I'm not having any luck. There's no Virtual ID for it when I look at its details like there is on the 150a power meter. I've tried adding the Tuya Activation UUID code that shows on the app which is the same format as the Virtual ID, but Indigo just comes back with this on the log:

Code: Select all

Re: Robotic Vacuums

In the Tuya app, tap on the device then tap the edit icon at the top right of the screen. Tap 'Device Information' and the Virtual ID is at the top of the page.

Re: Robotic Vacuums

Aha! There’s two areas that have device info and I was looking at the wrong one. What a weird UI!

It’s now working correctly.

One thing that’d be a nice feature for the future would be if the device itself could be an on/off device, on being mapped to start cleaning and off being mapped to return to dock?

Re: Robotic Vacuums

You could do that with a Meta switch device…

Re: Robotic Vacuums

Oh indeed, that’s what I’ve done. It’d just be nice if it was on the original device just to keep things tidy… my system is full of virtual or meta devices of other devices to make it do X y and Z

Re: Robotic Vacuums

On a side note this cleaner is great! It’s better than my old roomba 520 in every way other than needing a cloud connection!

Re: Robotic Vacuums

Indeed! Especially considering when I got that old roomba it was probably around £400.. and then the WiFi module was another £100 or so
