I can verify. The web page of the device has the most accurate on/off status. When I turn light on using web page, ShellyMQTT plugin does not detect light is on

Did you ever confirm Aaron's suggestion quoted above? The broker field needs to have your broker selected. As Aaron said you screen shot shows blank. I did confirm that it will allow you to save it blank but that is not what you want.
