I'm getting repeating event log events

I just installed The Starling Hub and it seems to be working fine. I have 8 Nest thermostats connected. One of the thermostats occasionally repeats events multiple times in a row. Its only this one thermostat that is doing this. I reset it to factory settings and deleted it from the NEST app and then reinstalled it back to the NEST app. It still does the same thing. I'm thinking of replacing it with a new one. Here is a piece of the event log showing the repeating.

Any suggestions?

Re: I'm getting repeating event log events

Hi Dave,
What have you got your polling time set to in the plugin Config? I have mine set to 5 seconds.

The humidity Value 50.399993896484375 seems a bit odd. On my system it is just showing as an integer percentage. What does it show in the Indigo UI for this thermostat and is it consistent with your other thermostats?

It should only update the stored humidity value in the device state, if it isn't equal to the incoming humidity value. So given that the incoming values are the same, this looks like a bug of some sort?

I could force the incoming humidity to be an integer value which might stop the recurring messages?

Re: I'm getting repeating event log events

My polling time is 5 seconds.
i looked at all 8 of my NEST thermostats in Indigo and selected it and at the bottom. And this one does read many numbers to the right of the decimal point and the other 7 just has an integer value for humidity. .. that is, no numbers to the right of the integer.

here are some pics. I don't know if these pics worked ok. It just has a file name of a png and i cant see the image in this post.

this pic is from the one that repeats humidity and has a lot of numbers to the right of the decimal point for the humidity value. The interesting point is that the temperature is correct and just has an integer for its value.

This pic is one of the 7 that is OK. It shows just the integer for the humidity and the temperature.

Thanks for looking into this.

Re: I'm getting repeating event log events

after I posted it then I saw the images.
Also note that when it does repeat in the event log it does occur every 5 seconds. but the value stays the same .
My whole event log is filled with that humidity message occuring every 5 seconds as I showed in my 1st post.

Re: I'm getting repeating event log events

also another note.

I deleted this thermostat from the Nest app but not from Indigo. When I reinstalled the thermostat into the Nest app it just reappeared again in Indigo.

I should probably delete it from Indigo and reinstall it again in Indigo. Unless you have another idea.

No problem. :)

Pre-release available on Github: Fix for Thermostat Humidity with Large Float Value

Untested, as I am waiting for my Nest Thermostat's battery to charge up.

Re: I'm getting repeating event log events

I installed it. So far its working good.

One thing I noticed that it did it for a certain value of Humidity. Like for example 50.5% it was OK. So Ill see how it goes over time.

Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the confirmation that the update has sorted out the humidity issue.

As I mainly create plugins for my own benefit, I don't accept donations; your appreciation is enough. ;)
