HomeKitLink Pre-release 0.6.27

Pre-release version for testing for 0.6.15
https://github.com/Ghawken/HomeKitLink-Siri/releases

Changelog

Version 0.6.15

Changes

Two big ticket library based items:

1.. Improved support for multiple advertising of IPs, and support for Ivp6 networks

Image

Homekit Server Options: Advertised Interfaces: (in my example)
::1 = (IVP6 localhost)
192.168.1.6 = (Ethernet interface)
192.168.1.92 = (Wifi interface)
&
Homekit Server: IP address
IVP4 IP interface that server is running on
192.168.1.6 = (Ethernet interface)

If you change options in advanced options - reload plugin to action.
&& if delete all content from boxes and reload will return to default behaviour.

2. Use byte/binary data for UUID

This is the UUID for the bridge which is generated when pairing. Some library users have reporting issues with newer versions of OS returning to lowercase, uppercase etc.

Use byte/binary data for UUIDs as it appears apple changing from Lowercase to Uppercase at times. This bypasses this issue now and into the future.

These are only created on device pairing, so if believe have an issue related to this. Delete bridge in HomeKit App. Then reset bridge with menu item in HKLS Plugin. Then repair the bridge.

HomeKitLink Pre-release 0.6.15

Pre-Release 0.6.26

Update for sluggish notifications for multiple bridges.

Removes combined Zeroconf instance and creates new one for each bridge.

Appears to have returned to instantous feedback.

Hopefully have reworked all the advanced server options, IvPVersion, advertised IPs etc. into to this reworked code. Please report back if any issues.

Glenn

Re: HomeKitLink Pre-release 0.6.27

Oooh so would that NFC functionality potentially allow us to enable the Homekey functionality?

Yep - have a version testing now - everything in it is basically blank - but when enabled the NFC services/characteristics to Lock - Get a nice new function added to your lock - setup and then it appears I have a HomeKey in my wallet for home!

Need a NFC reader to use it …. (which don’t have currently - ordered though…)
Not quite sure how would then add functionality into Indigo anyway….

HomeKey - Wallet app presumably creates a NFC which then a reader needs to read to set rest in motion.

That would be amazing. What NFC reader did you order?

Re: HomeKitLink Pre-release 0.6.27

I ordered the ESP based Adonno
https://adonno.com/tagreader/

Needed stand-alone really if going to mount it outside eventually..

It uses ESPHome which is HA based - so may need a bit of work to get working probably, and may need its own plugin …
Although pretty sure there is a ESPHome to MQTT option - where everything is send via MQTT.
Also seems to be a couple of months of delay potentially shipping…

Benefit is : Could mount it externally and use as door lock/unlock ideally, with/without home key…

Interesting. I shall await your results with bated breath!

I actually ran an extra cat6 cable to my front door for exactly this kind of thing, so hopefully could get it to work with that.

The POE converters which can buy from AliExpress are great for this sort of thing.
POE —> micro-USB, or POE to Camera 12V, sure there will be POE —>USB-C
.
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mOh7yse

Can use the Cat for Power via POE and one of these converters and then wifi for connection.
The other benefit of POE is because high voltage you don’t get the voltage drop you see if try to run power cables from far away source.

Re: HomeKitLink Pre-release 0.6.27

Oh indeed! I run a lot of things in my house via PoE adapters from my unifi switch. Also makes it a lot easier to reboot them if something goes wrong!

Re: HomeKitLink Pre-release 0.6.27

The other benefit I have found with them if have a lightning strike - these adapters get fried rather than the switch or the device…

Re: HomeKitLink Pre-release 0.6.27

I’m curious.. would it also be possible to expand this to work with the work pass functionality?
