New Plugin Dev Started - SamsungTV

I have started developing a plugin for Samsung TVs with the Tizen OS (post ~2016 ish)

Please let me know if you are interested in playing around with the pre-release. The initial installation will likely fail while I get the library dependencies figured out. That will be helpful for me to know.

It currently supports:
- Multiple TVs
- On/Off State monitoring
- Turn On/Off
- Volume control
- Send navigation commands

Currently requires:
- import os
- import re
- import sys
- import datetime
- samsungtvws (included within the plugin)
- wakeonlan (included within the plugin)

NOTE: This is a pre-release plugin and may change significantly before release

I've got a couple of Samsung TVs currently controlled via homekit only but would be great to have them in indigo too.

Re: New Plugin Dev Started - SamsungTV

So I have two tizen TV's

The first a Q70 series, QE65Q70RATXXU works, and will switch off. It won't switch on, but I think this may be to do with EU energy saving settings. I haven't tried anything beyond that.

The other Series 6 TV, QE55Q6FAM does not connect (cannot reach device) but this is an early Tizen version. I does work if I connect from the python library from another machine.

I will keep playing, but some initial success

Just a quick update, I can make the QE55Q6FAM turn on via Wake on Lan, I cannot remember if the other TV has a wired ethernet and cannot get to it easily tonight to check so that may be the issue.

Interesting. I have a timeout of 3 seconds if the TV won't connect assuming it's off. How long does the python library take?

Sorry - I missed this earlier. No appreaciable delay, and certainly well within the 3 seconds time out window
