Re: Daikin Wifi controller released for 2022.1/Python 3

Aaah, Neil - you've done it again!!

Yet to test it thoroughly (the room with the AC is occupied by others who have great dislike at my testing routine!!) but actions not generating errors in the log.

I wonder is Econo is equivalent to Comfort. I have this working with mine

I don't think so. When COMFORT is enabled the manual states:
The flow of air will be in the upward direction while in COOL/DRY operation and in the downward direction while in HEAT operation, which will provide a comfortable wind that will not come in direct contact with people

When ECONO or QUIET are enabled the manual states:
ECONO operation enables efficient operation by limiting the maximum power consumption. This function is useful to prevent the circuit breaker from tripping when the unit operates alongside other appliances on the same circuit.
OUTDOOR UNIT QUIET operation lowers the noise level of the outdoor unit by changing the frequency and fan speed of the outdoor unit. This function is convenient during the night-time operation.

We won't't use the ECONO or QUIET functions via Indigo (if ever!), so there is no reason, other than completeness to pursue these further. I will test further when I can get unhindered access to the actual unit and let you know the outcome.

Again, can I thank you for the prompt and accurate responses in adapting your plugin to the Alira. Perhaps we can find a way of shouting you a pint - although the current Australia/UK airfares would make it VERY expensive

Thanks again

Hi Neil!

A quick test in front of the ac unit suggests that none of the special functions settings are having any effect. No errors are logged, so I suspect it might be the API? Or it maybe that some special functions preclude others?

Time has not permitted detailed investigation and logging, but will do so when possible. It's a long weekend here with lots of people around, so unlikely to be until next week. Until then the plugin is certainly usable so if I find time I can start work on some control pages to incorporate the AC unit.

Thanks again for your assistance, and regards

Hi,
Thanks for testing, and absolutely no problem at all. Those API calls were outside the documentation I used to build the plugin (and that is unofficial) and I had a feeling it may be the case given the logs you had already provided. Worst case I can now control my own unit with those functions (and I will release for the other users too once I update the documentation). I will keep digging to see if any other documentation can be found.

My unit is in my study, so I can change modes without offending the family, and a pint one day would be nice (not for the money, but for the socialising)

Thanks,
Neil
