Re: tvOS 15 & Device Pairing

Sorry for not working on this one

Realistically I don’t know when I will have time to work on this one

I have some big projects in front of me
Shelly 2
Apple TV
Pibeacon convert the rpi parts to py3
The first 2 require a complete redesign. Pibeacon to py3 will require 50 modules to be converted. That’s not just py2 to py3 but replacing io libraries that are unsupported

So I don’t want to not promise a date

Karl.

Re: tvOS 15 & Device Pairing

Hi Karl

Hope it is okay, but I have written a python3, asyncio plugin for connecting and controlling appleTVs.

Started from the ground up, again using pyatv - helped by python3 being native I’m sure. A user emailed me and suggested it was fine with you, which started ball rolling and before you know it I was mainly done. Hopefully he was right! It’s here:

viewtopic.php?f=222&t=26700&p=214766&hilit=appletV#p214766

I’m sure there will be a few issues, if asyncio, threading and plugin and libraries is anything to go by … but initial testing across 2 machines, and multiple appleTVs going well. Overcomes pin/appletv 4k and OS16 issues.

Will see what a few users can find.
