Isn't there a device definition for a roller shutter controller?

There isn't currently in the Hubitat Plugin. Have you got one defined in Hubitat and are you publishing it via the MQTT App and if so what definition are you using?

Given we are talking about two separate systems (Indigo and Hubitat) you need to be more specific about which platform you are asking about (or both). ;)

Re: Hubitat Plugin Beta

I have added to Hubitat the Fibaro Roller Shutter 2 using a User Driver for the Roller Shutter 3.
In Indigo I can see it as "contact sensor", this is one of the property defined in the MQTT.

I can see in Hubitat with all the parameters

Re: Hubitat Plugin Beta

Can you do a screen grab of the published node [fully expanded] in MQTT EXplorer and post it here?

Re: Hubitat Plugin Beta

Thanks for the screengrab. :)

Is that all there was for that node - just $properties?

As previously mentioned , the plugin doesn't currently support this type of device.

I will setup a test device and look at adding code to handle this.

This could take a week or so, :)

Re: Hubitat Plugin Beta

Hi,

I bought a "Silvercrest" Zigbee motion sensor and I can add it without any problem to Indigo through the plugin.
But when there is a active/incative event I get this error:

Code: Select all
Hubitat Bridge Error            Error detected in 'hubHandler' method 'handle_message'. Line '627' has error=''key id 1254321619 not found in database''

Update: Discussed with Marco over IM and a plugin restart resolved it. There is anintermittent bug that I will investigate. :)

Re: Hubitat Plugin Beta

Soon I have to pull the trigger and buy the roller shutter controller.
Any plan to include it in Hubitat (Zigbee) otherwise I need to buy the more expensive Z-wave and control them directly with Indigo

Thanks

Blinds / Shades / Roller Shutter is supported in the soon to be released Hubitat Plugin beta update. I have programmed the logic to handle this and tested it with a Hubitat Virtual Shade device. It works for that and therefore should work for a Zigbee device but obviously I haven't tested this.

Just ironing out the last few gremlins in the alpha testing. :)

Re: Hubitat Plugin Beta

I updated the plugin to v2022.0.1 (on two Indigo installations) and on both of them I cannot connect to the MQTT broker (it says "disconnected");
in the device preferences the "MQTT Broker Devices" is empty and if I try to save the preferences I got an error saying I have to select a broker I want to publish.

Is this anything new from the latest release?

Thank you
Marco

Re: Hubitat Plugin Beta

You need to setup a Hubitat Bridge > MQTT Broker device to point at your MQTT Broker.
Tick the boxes in MQTT Publications and MQTT Subscriptions for homie (Hubitat)
This will then appear in the pull-down for the Hub you are setting.

This was added to allow the plugin to connect to multiple brokers.

Re: Hubitat Plugin Beta

Hi Jon,
I just upgraded to Indigo 2022.1 and all good so far. There are a couple of plugins that I don't expect to be upgraded for future Indigo releases, one being PowerView. Given this thread, it seems hopeful that I could implement a Hubitat, use your Hubitat Plugin, and the Hubitat Hunter Douglas API to support my shades. Does this seem like a reasonable approach?
Thanks, Ron

Re: Hubitat Plugin Beta

Hi Ron,
I don't know anything about the Hubitat Hunter Douglas API. However, assuming it creates shade devices in Hubitat and that these can be exposed via the Hubitat MQTT App, then it should work OK.

If necessary, changes could be made to the Hubitat plugin but it should hopefully already support shades? :)
