Can you send me a debug log of a session? I can't think of any reason that would happen.

I see this:

It updates with the proper location but doesn't trigger any triggers that are keyed to distance away.

I'm on the latest beta of 6, not sure if that makes a difference?

Turns out it was Smarthome Radar that was giving the false positives. All good now.

Okay, that's good, since I haven't been able to find any issues so far… >grin<

Re: Find My iDevices! (April 2013+)

Hello,

I need some help on using the plugin.
I installed the Find My iDevices Version 1.715.
I copied also the IWS Plugin (folder "find-my-idevice", i also copied it as "Find-My-iDevices") in the directory "Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 6/IndigoWebServer/Plugins".
The plugin works correctly and it can loccate my idevices.
However i cannot make the web page to work.
I tried to find it under the home server web page (192.xx.xx.xx:xxxx) but i see only the classic links of Devices, Actions,etc. Nothing at the bottom of the page.
I tried also under the http://xxxx.goprism.com/Find-My-iDevices.html or 192.xx.xx.xx:xxxx/Find-My-iDevices.html but i get the error undefined page requested.
Is something that i am doing wrong ?

I also want to ask you how can i put the address of an idevice to a variable ?

Finaly after the last upgrade to beta 11 the device details of the idevice registration (under devices) shows only the last update date and not all other info (like address etc). If i connect to the server using the beta 10 i can see under this tab all these info. Is there any way to resolve this issue ?

thanks in advanced for your help

George

The Find My iDevice web page is only accessible from the same subnet, and you need to have Indigo's web server running.

The Action Collection Plugin has an action that will allow you to copy the address to a variable. But keep in mind, that is already stored in a state, and should be accessible through triggers, etc. The only "stuff" that can't display a state is an Applescript.

Scroll down, the Device Extended States are below the device state display.

Re: Find My iDevices! (April 2013+)

Thank you for your quick reply and help.

As far as the variable is concerned i managed it through Action Collection Plugin.

I also saw the the Device Extended States ;-)

I did not managed however the web page.
I have the Indigo's web server running. Anyway i also run the control pages.
I tried through the same pc running the Indigo server and i typed the ip address of the mac + port :8176 + Find-My-iDevices.html but i get the same error....

I am not sure what i am doing wrong.

thanks

George

try:

http://*IP Address*:8176/

That should bring up the Indigo Web Server, one of the options at the bottom will be Find My iDevices, click on that link and that should bring up the web page.

If you don't see it, then the Find My iDevice web plugin isn't installed correctly.

Re: Find My iDevices! (April 2013+)

I currently use this python script to reload the Google Voice SMS plugin periodically... I was curious about what I would put in to be able to do this with FMID?

Code: Select all
plugin = indigo.server.getPlugin("com.chrisandlynette.indigoplugin.googleVoiceSMS")
if plugin.isEnabled():
   plugin.restart()

Re: Find My iDevices! (April 2013+)

I am currently using this trigger and it is working. However, I would like to have a trigger that is opposite of this. Is there an operator that tells me that iDevice is NOT at that street or am I missing some different sort of event that I could use as a trigger?

I think the best way to handle the inverse of that trigger is to use a "Device State Changed" type trigger for the specific iOS device you're wanting to track. Select the device associated with Cathy, then select the "Closest GeoLocated Street Address" state, and "Has Any Change" condition. Then set the condition in the Conditions tab to...

Code: Select all
   "All" "of the following rules are true"
      "If device" "(Cathy's iOS device)" "Closest GeoLocated Street Address" "does not contain" "Bridge Park Drive"

The "contains" and "does not contain" comparisons for device states is new with Indigo 6.0 (final release), so that version would be required for this condition to work.

Re: Find My iDevices! (April 2013+)

Perhaps, and highly likely, I'm doing something incorrect but I cannot seem to get FIM to update locations via a trigger or manually. The plugin works great via the drop down menu and setting the time between automatic updates but I can't seem to get a location update via any other method.

I'd love to be able to have FIM update locations when a gate is opened or my garage door is opened. I've set up the opening of an indigo controlled gate to trigger a FIM update and the event log shows the trigger, sends a request to FIM but no data ever returns. Moreover, using the manual update drop down plugin menu shows the manual request for a location update, but again nothing returns.

I've tried restarting the FIM plugin, restarting Indigo, restarting the Mac Mini it's running on and nothing seems to help. I've looked at the debug mode for FIM and upon a manual or triggered request FIM seems to be idle. No error messages are displayed in the console or anything of the sort. I'm stuck and not certain how to implement this feature, any assistance would be very welcomed!

I din't think you're doing anything wrong. It's never worked for me either. I'm currently running version 1.715.
