Using Switchboard to Capture a DS10a

So far I've created a Switchboard device- X10 Monitored Device with the DS10a ID
and another Switchboard device-X10 Device Group with the X10 Monitored Device added to the zone.

I set up a trigger looking for any last updated change to the X10 Device Group device
which seems to work but am guessing there's a better way? I've had a couple false triggers using
this method.

This shows in the log when the DS10a is triggered:

Received RF security command sensor alert (min delay) (ID 239)
Switchboard Error RFX X10 Device Group [1848008943] not been assigned a Switchboard Group.
Error device "RFX X10 Device Group" state key Last_X10Command not defined (ignoring update request)
Trigger X10 DS10a Trigger Test
Trigger Announce Alexa Kitchen
Action Group Alexa Announce Kitchen
Error device "RFX X10 Device Group" state key onState not defined (ignoring update request)

Any help appreciated!

Thanks,

Carl

Hi Carl,

For the Trigger type did you try choosing Switchboard Event? You can then choose the Event Sensor Opened/Closed I believe.

In trying the Switchboard Event trigger it doesn't show a menu to associate a device with it.

Thanks,

Carl

Yeah, I'm not sure how that Trigger event is supposed to work. Let's try for plan b: create a Trigger of type Device State Changed and choose The Device State is On state (and choose True for open and False for close).

Re: Using Switchboard to Capture a DS10a

That’s one I have been trying, I think...am a bit confused for sure.
Maybe I’ll just stay with the method that sort of works for now.
Not a priority at all.

Thanks,

Carl
