Plugin not showing up in Devices

Did I miss something in configuring?

Pluging shows in "Plug-ins" but when I try to configure in Devices, no MQTT option for Type.
What did I miss?
Do I need to restart Indigo? To pickup IP perhaps?

Code: Select all

Re: Plugin not showing up in Devices

The Broker plugin doesn't have any devices. There can only be one Broker, and the port it uses is configured in the plugin config dialog.

Should MQTT not be an option here? I tried following the Newbie instructions but seem to be missing the very first part?

Re: Plugin not showing up in Devices

There are three different MQTT plugins. Broker, which has no devices; Connector, which has a device for each MQTT Broker you're connecting to; and Shims, which has a device (or multiple) for each remote MQTT device you're communicating with.

Do you already have an MQTT broker you're trying to connect to? If so, you should be starting with the MQTT Connector plugin.

Re: Plugin not showing up in Devices

I have a broker on Home Assistant but was going to use the Indigo one instead.

So basically I just need to add MQTT Connector ?

Yes. Is the HA broker on the Indigo system? You probably don't want to run two brokers on the same system.

Yes. Going to delete/turn off the Mosquitto Broker. Thought it might be simpler to keep as much as possible on Indigo side as that will remain my Core.

Thank you

Re: Plugin not showing up in Devices

That only downside to the Indigo plugin broker is that is has NO security. But if you're only connecting to it from devices on the local LAN, probably not an issue.

Re: Plugin not showing up in Devices

Thanks for the reminder re security. For the moment everything is local.
What started all this for me is that I wanted info from my Hyundai EV. Only available via a Home Assistant 3rd party add-on. Then I decided to add a Hubitat Hub for ZigBee. Don't know when to leave well enough alone  .
Thanks for the help and the Plug-ins.
