Indigo devices to MQTT

Is it possible to have multiple device templates so that specific template could be chosen for a specific device?

For example, I could choose one template for a motion sensor and a different template for a temperature sensor?

Which templates are you talking about?

Oh, wait, you're talking about the publishing templates? The way to do that is to set up a Connector device for each class of device you want to publish, and customize it there.

But think very hard about that, is there really a good reason to do that?
