Sorry I meant 7GB. That is only one the Roon plugin so I had to disable it.

Indigo Server is currently showing 81MB RAM.

Re: Roon Controller Plugin Beta feedback.

Not sure why that should be. :?

How much memory is your Roon Core using and does it run on your Indigo Mac?

How many Outputs and Zones have you got setup?

Roon is using about 500MB and yes both are running on same Mac.

So far I only see only one output in Indigo but I do have 4 in Roon. This is after reinstalling but then had to disable it.

Re: Roon Controller Plugin Beta feedback.

When you reload the plugin is it using a lot of CPU and does the memory use increase quickly?
How soon do you have to disable the plugin?

I am a bit mystified as to what could be causing this issue. I have just installed the plugin on my development system and connected to my Roon Core (running on my production Mac). It is using 32.5 MB.

When the plugin starts, is anything thrown up in the log?

Re: Roon Controller Plugin Beta feedback.

Hi,

When I try to configure the Roon plugin, I get a spinning wheel for a while, and then nothing. Why would this happen? My roon core runs on a Synology NAS.

Mark

When the plugin starts-up it will require to be authorised by Roon - there should be a message in the Indigo Event log indicating such.

If you haven't done this, go to the Roon Controller, Open Settings and select the Extensions tab and click Enable on the autolog Roon extension.

Hopefully this is the issue, if not we will have to dig deeper. :)

Re: Roon Controller Plugin Beta feedback.

It looks like the plugin expects the server to run locally. Is that true? If the solution would be to change this in the config, I cannot as I just see the spinning wheel when I try to start the configuration of the plugin.

So, Isstarted a Roon core on the indigodomo machine. Got these results:

Code: Select all

Re: Roon Controller Plugin Beta feedback.

I don't think you have authorised the plugin in the Roon App settings (as highlighted in my previous post). ;)

The plugin doesn't have to run locally to Roon. I am running the plugin on my development Mac and it is accessing Roon on my production Mac.

Hopefully the above will resolve the issue for you; if not I will investigate further with you. :)

UPDATE: I just noticed that you have a polling error in your log - let me check that out. :)

Re: Roon Controller Plugin Beta feedback.

I have uploaded a new pre-release version of the Roon Controller to Github.
It has been development for a while as a background task. :)

It is available here: Roon Controller Version 0.3.1

The plugin code has been extensively reviewed and refactored. The debug options have been made simpler.

Download the Roon.indigoPlugin.zip file, click to uncompress the zip file and then install the plugin in Indigo.

Depending on your OS version, you may need to go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General and authorise the plugin. It is best to then to reload the plugin and you may have to click Open in a dialogue window. After that, you should hopefully be OK.

If you are still having problems after this new version is installed, then at least we will both be on the same code base for further diagnostics. :)

Re: Roon Controller Plugin Beta feedback.

Hi again,

I left my system, after having re-installed the plugin (previous version) and set the roon core to my Indigo mac. At that time, the extension was not available (and so I could not authorize)

When I came back, the extension was suddenly there, and it's been a smooth ride from there! I am now using the most recent version.

Mark

Mark

Re: Roon Controller Plugin Beta feedback.

Is it possible that the volume does not record properly? I get a value of 0. Volume up/down commands work as they should, but the reported value remains unchanged at 0.

I have just checked this and verified what you are seeing. :?

It should be displaying the volume value amongst other things which don't appear to be updating.
It is a bug.
I will have a look at it and post an update once I have resolved the issue.

Glad you have got it working (apart from the bug) and the authorisation sorted. :)

Re: Roon Controller Plugin Beta feedback.

I have uploaded a fix to Github: Roon Controller Version 0.3.2

A word or two of warning; make sure that the resultant download is named roon.plugin and not roon-2.plugin or similar. This can occur if another version is in your download folder and Apple helpfully renames the plugin file. Installing a badly named version means the plugin won't work. :|

The Indigo Roon Output device now has its states updated correctly. The bug was introduced by my code refactoring.

I have also added a new feature set via the plugin configuration: Display Track Playing which if checked will display the Track Name and Artist in the Indigo UI Notes field. It won't update until the track changes.

Hopefully this fix will work for you. :)

Re: Roon Controller Plugin Beta feedback.

Hi, I downloaded the zip, and installed the new plugin version from this zip file.
Unfortunately I got the following fatal error:

30 Oct 2020, 10:12:20
Reloading plugin "Roon 0.3.2"
Starting plugin "Roon 0.3.2" (pid 19582)
Roon Error Error in plugin execution InitializeMain:

File "/Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 7.4/Plugins/Roon.indigoPlugin/Contents/Server Plugin/PIL/Image.py", line 94, in <module>
ImportError: cannot import name _imaging

Stopping plugin "Roon 0.3.2" (pid 19582)
Stopped plugin "Roon 0.3.2"

Am I doing something wrong?

Mark

Mark
