***Feature Request***

Ni Nathan,
I'm not sure if this is possible but I have a need to automate the restart of my Hue Sync device.

Thanks!

Hi Lou.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Unlike adding support for a new light or sensor, the Hue Sync uses a completely separate API. So while it may be possible to add support in a future version, it will require significant work. I can’t guarantee I’ll have that time available, but the plug-in source is also available on GitHub , so maybe another developer will donate some time to add support if I don’t get to it.

Thanks Nathan for the added support of the new lights.

Question: How do I add them? I installed the plugin but I don't see the new lights listed. Is there anything else I need to do?

thanks

Greg

I bought a new LIDL Silvercrest On/Off Plug, Model TZ3000; I added to "supportDevices.py" and it works fine.

Maybe you can add it to your next planned release

Thanks

I also use several of these and can't get them to appear in the list of lights available. Guessing they are not supported. Would love them to be.

Sure.

However, that model is the Philips model number, almost certainly not the actual "model ID" used by the Hue system to distinguish that type of light from another. Once you've paired that light with your Hue bridge, I'd need to know the exact model ID that shows up in the Hue app when viewing detailed light information. It'll probably be something like "LCF004" or something similar. Until I have that, I won't be able to properly add support.

Regards,
Nathan

Thanks for the report. I'll add that to the next plugin update.

Hi Lee. Thanks for the screenshot. I'll add support for that in the next plugin update.

Cannot find sensors

The plugin cannot find my sensors. This may have happened because I was cleaning out my scene creators at the Hue website and accidentally deleted my iPhone app. I have since re-authenticated with it and with Indigo. When I try and recall a scene I see the list of rooms and devices, but there are no scenes. I also have no Hue sensors that I'm aware of, but historically the plugin says two are being loaded. Unfortunately half my lights are Hue, so the WAF is plummeting since the lights are wonky!!!

Here's the log...

Hi Bruck.

Thanks for the report and the debug logs. I saw the error message in the log related to scene listing issues. I believe I've found the issue and will include a fix in the next Hue Lights plugin update.

Just so I'm sure I understand, the post says "cannot find sensors" but the body of the post says "I also have no Hue sensors..." Did you mean "cannot find scenes"?

As for the plugin listing more sensors than you have, that's expected. The Hue bridge creates a few virtual sensors out of the box that relate to day/night and location. The Hue Lights plugin counts all sensors listed by the Hue bridge (even ones it doesn't support) regardless of whether they're actual physical sensors or virtual ones. So it's normal to see a higher number of sensors detected than you actually have paired with the Hue bridge.

Hi Nathan - thanks. I DID mean I don't have any sensors, but the log reports two =- but you explained it - that the hub creates a couple virtual ones.

Nathan - I downloaded the zip file for 1.7.45 but when I double click on it, the file that opens is the version dated 12/9, which might be 1.7.44.
