• Added support for the Hue White PAR38 Outdoor light.
• Added support for another Hue White Ambiance BR30 bulb.
• Added support for another Feibit Inc. LED strip controller, branded as the 3A NUE ZigBee RGBW Light.

Hi All,

I really like the plug-in, unfortunately I have a problem adding IKEA lights as new devices.

I have :
5 original Hue lights
1 original Hue light strip and
2 IKEA lights

They all work within the Hue app.

When I reload the plug-in it tells me in the log window that the plug-in found 8 lights, which is correct.

Started plugin "Hue Lights 1.7.11"
Hue Lights Loaded 8 lights.
Hue Lights Loaded 4 groups.
Hue Lights Loaded 30 scenes.
Hue Lights Loaded 2 sensors.

I have added a screenshot where I counted all the number of items in the ad new device list, and I am on able to find the two IKEA lights.



I’m running the latest version of the plug-in (v1.7.11). Am I doing something wrong? Or do I not understand the workings of the plugin?
Can anyone point me in the right direction.

Hi Olaf.

Sorry to hear about the trouble getting the IKEA lights working. The Hue Lights plugin doesn't automatically work with all lights paired with the Hue bridge. Each light model must be added to the plugin. So, you're using it correctly and you're not missing anything. Those lights just aren't supported yet. I can add support though.

Thank you for the details and the debug log. That helps a lot. Could you tell me the names you've given the 2 IKEA lights in the Hue app that aren't working in the Hue Lights plugin? I can find them in the debug log and add support for them based on the debug log information.

Hi.
I just picked up some new hue lights today. This is the kind that cant control colour temp, only dim level. But it does not look like I am able to create these as devices.
Any chance of adding these as devices?

Since Philips hasn't added those models to their Hue API yet, I need the debug logging output like Olaf provided and the names you've given to the lights in the Hue app. I need the info from the debug log in order to know exactly what to add to the plugin to make those lights work. Once I have that, I can include support in the next update to the plugin.

I just purchased a few of the new Hue Edison style light bulbs. I tried setting them up as a LivingWhite but they could not find the name I assigned to them in Hue. I also tried Ambiance without success. I am using the latest plug-in 1.7.12.

Please provide the debug log output similar to what Olaf provided above, along with the names you’ve given to the new lights in the Hue app. Since Philips hasn’t added any of the new lights to their supported devices list in their API, this is the only way I can add support.

I didn't know that there was a Hue debug log. I've looked around but couldn't find one through the bridge's URL.

Are there some direction I could follow?

Hi Joe.

I don't mind adding support. It actually won't take too long.

The debug log info actually comes from the Hue Lights plugin within the Indigo client, not from the Hue bridge, so it's pretty easy to enable.

From in the Indigo Mac client, go to the Plugins menu and then the Hue Lights -> Toggle Debugging menu option. The Indigo log will start to fill up with a bunch of debug log info. Wait for about 10 seconds, then toggle the debug logging off (same menu path). Copy everything in the Indigo log from when you toggled on debug logging to when you toggled it off, then paste it into your reply, along with the names you've given the new lights in your Hue app on your mobile device.
