Unable to add Hue White E14 lamps

Hi All,

I was able to add E27 color lamps, E27 white lamps and Osram smart sockets. However I can't add my hue white e14 bulbs. I can't see them in any of available drop-down menus. How to add them to indigo?

Hi and welcome.

That probably means the plugin doesn't yet recognize the model ID of that E14 bulb. I can add support, but I need more information from you. A screenshot from your mobile device showing the light details in the Hue app along with whether the light supports color, color temperature or just dimming. See this post for an example of what I need.

It supports dimming only. No color or temperature settings.

Yes, but not without rewriting most of the way the plugin interacts with Hue devices and then reviewing the entire code base. I don't have time to do that, to be honest. The plugin was written at a time when the Hue API hadn't even been published by Philips (i.e. it was mostly a hack based on someone else's work on reverse engineering the interactions between the Hue app and the Hue bridge). It wasn't until relatively recently that the Hue API provided the ability to determine a device's capabilities through the API. Since the plugin was never designed to work that way, it can't take advantage of that API feature.
