Hue lights on an IoT VLAN

I'm probably going to regret doing this for all sorts of reasons, but I am trying to both increase the security of my network and learn more about networking, VLAN's, firewalls etc. in general.

I have already moved my cameras and Sonos over onto a separate VLAN and its mostly working well (not being helped by Ubiquiti's fairly poor firewall logs) and am going to move the Hue hub over shortly.

1. Does anyone have any helpful advice for me to ensure that this works smoothly with Indigo, Homehub etc etc?
2. I have previously moved the IP address of the hub, yet in indigo in the address field the IP is still showing as the original address. It all seems to work, but does this not get updated? I have restarted indigo, the plugin and ensure that its all paired.

Thanks in advance....

Re: Hue lights on an IoT VLAN

Hi.

Thanks for the questions.

Unfortunately, I’m afraid I can’t be of much help on this networking topic. You might try posting this question in the Indigo Server Software forum in order to reach a broader audience.
