Hi
I have two new Phoenix wall Lights (Model HML004 66014169) that I can't add as devices.
When the plugin loads - it seems to see the correct number of lights " Hue Lights Loaded 21 lights."
But when I try and create a device the Phoenix Lights are not listed under any category
Any suggestions?

Hi and thanks for the post.

The Hue Lights plugin doesn't recognize the Phoenix wall light. I can likely add support if you provide some debug log output. Simply go to the Plugins menu in Indigo then to Hue Lights -> Configure. Enable debug logging then reload the plugin (Plugins -> Hue Lights -> Reload). Copy the entire log from the point where you reloaded the plugin. I need to find the "model ID" that the Phoenix is reporting to the Hue hub in order to add support.

• Added support for the Phoenix wall light.

Note that the Phoenix light will appear in the Hue bulb list. This means that the plugin will allow HSB or XY (RGB) color commands to be sent to the Phoenix even though the Phoenix does not support such commands. This will generate an error from the Hue hub (and in the plugin). Fuller support for color-temperature-only lights will require more significant changes to the plugin code later on.

Hue Lights Error plugin runConcurrentThread function returned or failed (will attempt again in 10 seconds)

If I reload the plugin I get the following log entry...

Hue Lights Error exception in deviceStartComm(Bedroom Phoenix Jo): 'hue'
Hue Lights Error exception in deviceStartComm(Bedroom Phoenix Peter): 'hue'

Thanks for the report.

I was afraid that might happen. The error is casued because the plugin thinks the Phoenix is a Hue bulb and is asking the hub for the current color setting, but the hub doesn't have any color settings for the Phoenix lights because those lights don't support color. The quickest fix will be to make the plugin think the Phoenix lights are Lux type bulbs (which don't support any color whatsoever). It'll take a day or so to get that posted though.

I think treating it as a Lux bulb makes sense as the lamp only handles white anyway
