I have version 6.0.1 Pro on both the server and client. When I click on the dropdown list for device types, "timer" (or anything that closely resembles that) is not listed. I have attached a screen shot for reference.

Is the Timers and Pesters plugin enabled? Select "Plugins->Timers and Pesters->Enable".
