Vera bridge, state key batteryLevel not defined. Bug?

When trying to use the Vera Bridge plugin to update the heat setpoint of a Danfoss Living Connect via a Vera 3, indigo gives the following error message:

Error device "Gran Radiator" state key batteryLevel not defined (ignoring update request)

The temperature is not updated, is this a bug? If so, is there a workaround?

The device in question is this:

That does look like a bug in the Vera Bridge plugin. We'll look into it.

But... I'm curious, why not just define the Danfoss directly in Indigo? That should work better than trying to control it indirectly via the MCV.

Thank you for looking into the Vera Bridge problem.

The two buildings on my property are too far apart for z-wave to cross reliably so I am using an old Vera 3 as a bridge using IP over a cat-5 cable. This is not ideal, I would much rather find some way of letting indigo control both directly and trash the Vera.

The perfect solution would have a small satellite computer (raspberry pi) which could relay indigo commands to a second z-wave USB controller, possibly achieved by re-routing the actual z-wave command bytes normally sent straight to the USB port.

Gotcha. Depending on how far the buildings are apart, you might have luck with a couple of these plugged into their most adjacent walls.

I'll give em a try when (if) they start selling a UK version :-)

Do you happen to know if forwarding by these are included in the hop count? Recall that only four hops are permitted.

I don't know for sure, but I suspect they do have to obey the basic Z-Wave protocol (and thus will count towards the maximum allowed hops).

I think I found the problem. The workaround is to delete and recreate the device - I suspect you converted an existing device and that's where the problem is I think. The fix will be in the next Indigo release.

Hmmm .. probably. I am doing quite a bit of testing with the system, Ill do what you suggested.

You looking for alpha testers? I have been in the software business since 1982 so I understand the risk of running new code.

Hmm .. I was not 100% sure if you meant remove and create in indigo or on the vera. I tried it on indigo but got the following error:

Vera Bridge Error Error in plugin execution ExecuteAction:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "plugin.py", line 380, in actionControlThermostat
<type 'exceptions.KeyError'>: (1,)

I'll send you an email and we can work through these that way.
