imessage plugin error not authorized

Setting up a new server running catalina 10.15.5
Its a brand new mac mini so this is what it came with.

when I send a message from my phone to indigo I see
iMessage Plugin Error iMessage Received from Buddy(s): Buddy(s) Handle Below:
iMessage Plugin Error +1973699xxxx
iMessage Plugin Error iMessage Received from Buddy(s): Buddy(s) Handle Below:
iMessage Plugin Error +1973699xxxx

But when I try to send from indigo I'm getting this error
The Error was :Not authorized to send Apple events to Messages. (-1743) app=u'Messages' range=95-97

How can I troubleshoot further ?

thank s

philip

Re: imessage plugin error not authorized

Hi Philip,

This is because of a bug in how/when Catalina shows the alert that asks for permission. We believe we have worked around the problem in the next release of Indigo.

In the mean time, see this forum post here (and follow the link to the post it points to).

I did see it and I tried the tell application "messages" and it did not seem to prompt me.

When will the fix be released ?

thanks

We generally don't pre-announce releases, but we hope to have this one out in a week or so.

Re: imessage plugin error not authorized

Looks like forum user ppespepe just found a tweak to the workaround that got it working. Give that a try.
